fdr was insanely low at 7.4
temps were max at 140

Let me know if there is room for improvement here as I like how it felt just wasn't 100% satisfied yet.
Witch motor did you use?
and how many turns?

I'm running into a sluggish issue also lately but it has been because of a switch to a Ballistic vs SS Novak motor. They are supposed to be the same but there is a definite difference for me on the track. Anyone switch from a SS to a Ballistic and find they needed to change settings or gearing? This is for both a 17.5 and 21.5.

13.5 Duo 2 tried both full timing and zero timing. Ended at zero timing on the motor. Car is a Photon rubber car.

well one thing the ss is fixed and ballistic is adjustable so the ss is timed higher

Guys,

If my car accelerates for a while, falls flat for some time and THEN starts to accelerate again, is it an indication that I am geared too tall?

I was using a 13.5 motor with 4.5 FDR on a big outdoor track with 180+ft straight. Motor temp after 6 minutes or so was 143 to 134 degrees. I would think that my gearing is not tall enough, no?

When the car takes off again, it is already 2/3 past the straight so I have to let off anyways. I'd much prefer it to accelerate continuously and smoothly until the end of the straight.

I am using 25 timing boost with max turbo and 0.5 sec delay. It is a Trinity Duo 13.5 motor.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you're geared too tall, go down a pinion or two

Could be gearing or too much timing hard to say without seeing the car run.

Try timing boost 20, turbo max with 1 sec delay. Your turbo is definitely coming in too early with that ratio and boost.

Great car
I have it also.

higher your Boost a bit.
What did you have for motor timing with that setup?

Motor felt best at zero timing.

I tested a lot this weekend, with my new RS Pro, in regionals race, and have similar problems that other guys here, i used 10.5T (Tekin and Nosram motors), and Lipo 5300 40C Nosram, i managed to finish 3th in A-main, but with very luck, my car aren´t competitive from SPX´s and others teams.

I tested ratios, from 5.0 to 9.0 ¡¡¡ (yes, 9.0), in both motors, timming boost 0 to 30, turbo: 10 to Max, delay: 0.5 and 0.8, timming in motors, 0º to 24º (Max), always with the same problem, the car have a great aceleration first 2 meters, and before feeling flat, and not turbo effect, or very good speed but very late.

Finally, i finish with Motor Nosram at 12º (+-), boost:25, Turbo: Max, Dly:0.8s, fdr: 6.88, the track are large (150-160ft straight), low grip asphalt, with this combination, i managed the best lap times.
I think, both motors, have a slighty weak rotors, for use, i buy a new rotor to test, i need win the next race, for win champioship , if luck is with me.

some advice?, Greetings, Luis C.

I run on about the same size track with 10,5 5 cell.
I run with the Tekin the folowing setup
Boost 15
Motor 10
Turbo Max
Turbo delay 0,8
6.00FDR

I would go with a lipo to 6,65FDR
Boost 15
Turbo Max
Turbo delay 0,8
Motor timing 8

Here is the Tekin faster than the LRP SPX.

#1 how old is the SS? Even with a new motor of the same model, the newer motor may run a little better due to the rotor having better magnetism.

Also, the SS is adjustable on timing.

I have both SS and Ballistic 21.5 motors, they run pretty close to my experience, but I have both maxed out on physical timing.

This weekend I noticed that, on a carpet track anyway, less timing probably is the way to go. I left the boost maxed out, but was running the timing on 4. In reality, I probably need to reduce motor and/or esc timing, and add more turbo delay (currently at .8 sec), like to 1 sec.

My RS ran great for the first day and a half, then with the switch turned on it started blinking (from left to right) the 1st, 3rd, and 5th LEDs but won't operate the motor. I have swapped everything in an attempt to isolate the problem, litterally changing everything including the radio, receiver, motor, battery.... I even swapped to a brand new RS, it worked immediately after the one-touch setup, but then began blinking the same 1st, 3rd, and fifth LEDs.

Anybody have suggestions on what to try next?
