Tekin RS ESC sensored

Geez,
While the default mode is indeed hybrid, it is my understanding that checking the box ono the hotwire screen locks you into sensored only mode, disabling the "sensorless" part of hybrid mode. To my knowledge, there isn't any pure sensorless mode on the RS (although you could force one by leaving the sensor cable disconnected if you really wanted it)
I could be mistaken, but I believe this is correct... someone from Tekin feel free to correct me...
By the way, this past weekend, I got my best times yet with the car, going from 112/53 to 114/53 seemed to do it... A tenth better on my best laps, and motor temp 164 after five minutes. Feels like I'm in the sweet spot now... Car is a Losi type R running rubber tires on carpet. Final drive is 3.93
for anyone interested:
Motor Tekin 17.5 Redline
Speedo RS
Hybrid mode
drag brake 45
brake strength 80
deadband 10
fwd only
throttle curve 3
cutoff 6v (2c lipo)
push control 0
timing 100

Orion Vortex 10.5T
Hey guys / Randy,
Anyone used an Orion Vortex 10.5T, if so would appreciate profile details for RS Pro.
Had my 1st run with RS Pro with Orion Vortex 10.5T yesterday, some issues with heat.
Initially used sensored only mode with full motor timing & fdr 5.13, quick but too hot ... 190f.
A guy at same track used same set up with Redline 10.5T ... no issues with max temp 135f. Perhaps the Orion has more motor timing built in ?
Ended up using Hybrid mode with temp of 165f ... but felt a bit "soft".
Would appreciate any advice
This is the last profile I used:
5.70fdr
Orion Vortex 10.5 w/with motor timing set "middle"
hybrid mode
drag = 80
rev = 0
brake = 90
neutral = 10
blfw
throt = 5
volt = 2
push = 0
timing = 100
current = off
Cheers
Alan

Thanks mangoman,
Will give that a try I did try the hotwire default of 72% for 10.5T but seemed to lack punch.
On another note, the RS Pro temp was about 135f. Not sure if this is normal as other esc's I have tried don't seem to get that warm.
Thanks

To me 135F isnt that hot, but have you checked the lights flashing for temperature after a run?
It seems that a little heat seems to get trapped in the case (hence the aluminium one which is in the works, but should only be necessary for mod) however i can tell you now my R1 Pro (which is kind of like the RS) when i ran it in mod was a LOT hotter than that!
Keep in mind that most other escs have active cooling in the way of fans. In fact if you end up running mod you really should be running a fan over the solder posts (which act as heat sinks for cooling).

Rollout & fdr 10.5T
Just starting up ion 10.5T.
What fdr & rollout would be best suited to 10.5T on small track ... approx 20m x 90 m ?
I am using RS Pro in hybrid mode.
Thanks

Had good night of racing on the dirt oval. I ran rs pro with a redline 17.5 in EDM big block and rs with 13.5 redline in The sprint car. Both cars TQ'd in each class and finished 1st. Proud of my 10 year old son who finished 2nd in sprint car class. He is still running orange but as soon as I get a replacement he will be driving Tekin ESC and motor.

Put in my new RS this last weekend. I raced it with a 17.5 redline in a TC5.
I was on the phone with the tekin techs twice, they were great and very helpful and great hours. I was a little nervous about programing it, no hot wire, but it went very smooth. I am a big tekin fan now. In fact a racing buddy who got the RS pro says he is now a tekin fan also.
Thanks guys for a great product.
God Bless

Sorry for the delays guys. I was indeed in Chicago at the Ihobby expo.
Just to clarify. Some people though you needed to use a profile that wasn't "on" so to speak simply to make adjustments. That's not true.
If you are in TP 3 and want to change ANY of the functions(except for TP's of course) you can and it will change in the esc IF you see the window pop up asking for verification of the change. This has to be done. If you don't see the window pop up it won't take.
TP settings change the linearity of the throttle ramp. 3 being linear.
So bottom line is to change 'em all you want. The TP settings that are "open" are left for full customizable profiles to be switched back and forth via not only the Hotwire but the esc itself on the fly.
Hope that clears it up.
And yes if you want a "true" sensorless you have to choices. Run a sensorless motor or unplug the sensor harness.
