Hello everybody,

Well last night I finished putting all the electronics in my WGT and started the testing. Had a few issues at first with the RS finding my radio settings when they were set to max but I backed the settings down (just like the instructions said) and it worked out just fine. I did a couple test runs in the parking lot at midnight and all seems just fine.
At this point I have done nothing the the RS to change it from stock form. I now would like to figure out if I should download the latest software V203 or possibly just leaving it as is. I have a Novak smart boost so I am a bit worried about the effects of changing to latest versions of software. Any help would be appreciated

Get the V203.
You will have a new speedo.
Calibrate the speedo again after updating.
I don't now any thing about the Novak booster.

Thanks for the input,

I think people are having issues with the Novak boosts getting along with V203. Just trying to figure out if updating will screw up my weekend plans

on the Tekin 1S topic there is more info.
maybe you can find there more info.

As you update it to the V203, you can always set it back to the V200.

Brakes on 85% works most of the time better.
Set motor type BL-FW

The novak booster seems to causing issues with 203 as the cutoff is set too high or something ?

It doesn't seem to happen with any other boosters though.

It's a Novak thing,,,,,, Tekin and Novak are competitors after all.

Default Tuning Advice

I'm at a big offroad event this weekend running 2wd stock and need some fine tuning advice.

I'm running an older Novak 13.5 with the orange ring, I set the ring in the middle for timing (not marked for degrees, but I assume it's around 5 - 10 degrees)

Timing boost 45 (start rpm ~2100/end rpm ~18000)
Turbo boost at 10 (ramp 2)
Kyosho geared 28/76

Track has nice long straight about 110 feet with 10 foot lanes everywhere, very fast high bite layout

In practice the car felt very fast, turbo kicks on nicely around mid straight.

here is my question, the motor is coming off temping with a gun around 100 - 110 degrees after 5 minutes so I think I can get more out of it, what adjustment would you suggest I push to get more out of the car?

thanks!

I don't do much offroad racing so I may not be the best to answer but it sounds like you are getting pretty close. I think I would leave the speedo settings alone and try going up a tooth on the pinion. If that gives you some more speed without too much heat and drop off, go with it. If times fall off bad and/or temps get high, go back.

On the Tekin site there is some info about it.
I use a big one. Mine broke so I use now a 4700 16V.

Tekin website says this one is for all...

TT3522 Power cap 16v 1000uF all units (2)

But, I usually try to use larger caps than suggested; so, mikky's recommendation seems valid.

Tekins will send you a cap. Or Order through Stormerhobby they have them, in a quantity of three.
If I remember correctly running w/o Cap could take it out of warranty. 330mf is stock you can use 1000mf. both at 16v. 1800, 2200,2700 25v for 5lipos. 1500 v35 6 lipos.
