Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, but I see alot of people having this problem with the Novaks. I had the same squealing even with only 30 degrees of timing added. I first tried reducing the timing on the motor and it made it worse to the point under no-load conditions it would squeal on the car stand. Since that made it worse, I advanced the timing on the motor and the problem went away. I believe there is something that is not right with the novak ballistics. I noticed there appears to be very little help out there for the novaks and I do not think it is in Tekin's best interest to comment on one of their competitors motors in my opinion.

For 7.5 your setup will differ greatly from a 10.5 setup.

Each brand of motor is also different enough to make certain changes to compensate for them.

This is why we always reccomend starting with low settings and working your way up to the big settings. Going big right out of the gate can cause huge issues, as you've found.

There are tens of thousands of RS users right now not having issues. But for those of you that do have them, we're here to help you work them out.
OK, I know you are right, we where driving it to test if any changes had fixed the problem. Is there anything you can ohm out or check with the hotwire to make sure the esc is working correctly, I was so irritated I unsoidered everything and thew it back in the box. I can tell you when the motor smoked, the A wire to the motor was very hot, the motor itself was at 140degs, because that was the first thing I checked. The hotwire still works on the esc, and I can read schematics if that helps. Or do I need to send it into you guys?

If that is case you should be running can timing instead of early start of boost. you will need to delay your turbo a bit longer too. smaller tracks settings
like this should be dailed
can 10
boost 45-50
turbo 5
delay .1-.2
ramp 2
end of 10000ish and start of 3800-4500
Then gear accordingly
finding most of my setting will run same gearing as 199/200 did

I got lost.

I have just downloaded Hotwire 4.0 and inside it shows there should be a 200 esc firmware available beside my current version 198.

I have an RX8 , which is the latest ESC firmware version ?? On the Tekin site I see 198 but the software highlights there is a 200.....

So to summarize

Hotwire 4.0
Vegas 2.0
Latest ESC firmware ??? 198 ? 200 ? 203 ?

Then, into the pilots settings they refer to 203....OMG....could you please help me ?

Thanks in advance

For the RX8 version version 198 is the latest. V200 and 203 are only for the RS and have nothing to offer the RX8 over 198.

I disagree, but we all have our own opinions and what works for one might not work for another simply because of the differences in people's driving styles.

OK guys, I took a step back, and soidered the esc back up to my 10.5Ballistic, added timing to the end bell and the car runs, but still clogs, the added timing has helped but not fixed the problem, I do believe even thou it smoked a motor, I dont think the esc has changed any, so "IF" the esc is not bad, and that Orion motor was a bad motor, what do you do to make the esc work?????

How much timing did you add on the end bell, I moved it 2 lines and it still clogs out, just not as bad.

I just ordered a 13.5 Redline motor, I will get in the car and see how it acts I guess. Everyone told the ballistic motors would work with the RS Pro, but I cant get it to work. Tried of getting mad at a toy car.
