alot of this softwear confuses the crap out of me.so im trying to learn this all i can.
Most are finding that turbo is only needed for MASSIVE tracks. I strictly use boost as the power is much more linear and just mess with the start and end rpm's for the most part. What wind of motor are you using?

2s, what would you recommend me checking? I was thinking that I should redo all of my solder joints on the esc and battery to make sure none were cold.

I've seen that happen with 6cell NiCd when the pack was getting bad so I'd suggest borrowing a different battery and trying that. If the problem still persists then you likely have a BEC problem with your ESC not giving enough power to the RX.

Hi All been reading through this epic thread trying to get up to speed on settings etc after running my rs 203 for the first time last week and think i've got it figured out (testing will confirm that) nice work Tekin!.

It seems to me that one of if not the most important setting in hotwire is the end rpm which you ideally try to match to the max rpms acheived by the motor you are using, FDR and the track layout etc. Now correct me if i'm wrong but the rs detects the rpms the motor is doing at any given moment right?
So something that would ease setup would be if i where to zero all boost settings etc in hotwire and 0 the timng on the can pick an FDR which suits the twisty bits then run a couple of laps the rs would know what the max rpms acheived where and could list it as say a recommended setting the next time i opened hotwire. Not sure if this is possible as the rs would need to be able to write the data and have somewhere to store it. Just a thought all comments welcome

If that's the case you should add an rx cap to your receiver. Spektrum makes one for like $4.

Default Mistake? Hope not!

Hope I haven't made a huge mistake ordering the Tekin RS & HotWire I haven't even received it yet (BO) and it has already been a huge PITA! Thought I would get a head start and go ahead and download the HotWire software ahead of time. Easier said than done, I had to register 3 times before Tekin sent the email with the zip file and then install and uninstall the program 3 times before it installed properly and as I still don't have the Hotwire I'm not sure it did install correctly. Hope it's worth all the trouble. I wish it was more like my Castle Link a few clicks and it was up and running. Oh well we shall see

I don't know how people are getting these mishaps and maladies on their speedo. I never had trouble with mine nor any hassles downloading the new firmware.

Maybe, I'm just lucky?

Mine also installed quick and easy. No problems at all. The Hotwire has worked flawlessly in applying settings to the speedo.

I purchased my RS just after they became available (October 2008?). I've downloaded four different versions of updates and never had a problem in the download or programming with the Hotwire.

I too don't understand why people are having problems.
