When you geared good and your turbo delay is set right, than you don't see it coming in. Than your car accelerates smooth.

When you hold your car in the air do you than see the turbo coming in?

What do you want to now?
The only thing I can tell is, is that a lower Boost will give you more power and a lower top speed by the same gearing.
I love a lower Boost on my Tekin 10,5 but on my 10,5 LRP I use about 5 more Boost and on my Speedpassion 10,5T even 5 Boost more.
So for the right setup you need some things before you can say what a good setup is.
This depends on a dew things.
Track size. Straight length and how the infield is.
Motor how many turns and also from witch company.
Each motor has his own setup.

I love on smaller outdoor tracks (big track for the US) to use more Boost and a lighter gearing.
On the larger tracks I'm on 15 Boost with my Tekin 10,5T.
Still I use a lighter gearing than all the other drivers.

On small indoor tracks I use a lower Boost and max Turbo but tomorrow I try a very light gearing with a lot of Boost.
Never tried it on a small track.

You are either over geared, or you have too much total timing added. So when your car is headed down the straight, the turbo is trying to come on, but since it is already over timed or geared, all that is added, is heat.

Do this... pick your car up in your hands, and give it full throttle for a few seconds. You should see the turbo REALLY ramp up after a second or two. If you can't get the turbo timing to work up in the air, you have an issue. If it comes on in your hands, but doesn't APPEAR to come on when the car is on the track, you aren't geared or timed properly.

Randy, do you have a speedo setup for an RS thats in a T4 with a Tekin 13.5? Also, if I leave the motor at zero timing, will that give me more rpm's? or should I change to the middle (10 degrees) on the motor and then set the speedo? Thanks for any help. This is for offroad.

Answers in red.

Thanks Randy for all the help, you have been very helpful in trying to understand boost, turbo and timing, just orderd tekin rs 17.5, for 17.5 spec class, running ae sc10, regionals are in st. louis, mo in two weeks. Where do I start with sc10 and boost and timing, where will my gearing go up or down from a 0 timing 17.5 motor that I am running now. The track is 80' by 50', 75' straight and 180 degree turns also. This is dirt offroad sorry only place I found the rs being talked about.

Thank you

Thumbs down Slow Repair Time

Well Tekin received my RS for repair on the 14th of October and it still isn't back yet. (I didn't even get to run it in the car yet) Tekin must have a whole bunch of broken items to repair. I called them up Monday of this week and the repair dept. said I would be racing by this Saturday...........I`m still waiting

Default 200v with Las Vegas

Randy,
Could you please email me the 200v with Las Vegas.
I have 189 right now and I have waited long enough, plus the carpet season has started and I have a new 12th scale to run.
Thanks and God Bless
