What gearing did you end up using and what type of racing?

Have you tried with the 13.5 yet?

I will be doing my testing this Friday with the new software, so any insight would be very useful.

I used the new software in a b4 with a 120 foot back straight. I originally had an FDR of 5.2 before cranking the timing in hotwire. Unfortunately, we did the update in the middle of the race day so I didn't have time to mess with gearing much...I ran the first qualy with the standard software and updated for the second. I can say that some punch was lost down low, but there was so much more top end that gearing down should recover the low and still have more speed. Rather than scramble to find gears, we just bumped the timing down some until the low end resembled the previous setup and it was still not winding out at the end of the straight.

I haven't tried it with a 13.5 I have a 10.5 I'm hoping to drop in this weekend...

I ran the boost at the Champs in 13.5 I had to set the motor timing at 0 and gear down 5 teeth from where I woulda been without the timing boost. I had too much bottom end!! I had to go to a less aggressive profile!! The car lunged in the infield and had the most top speed out of any car there hands down.

There is a software and hardware component to the hotwire. You have to buy the hardware which comes with a software disk, but free updates are provided for the software on line. Does that make sense?

The part # for the Hotwire usb interface is TT1450. Then you can download the latest software via the net and you're current!

It also allows for some extra adjustments and finer step adjustments as well.

Can you spill the beans a little more on the boost function? Specifically, will it be effective with a fixed-timing motor such as my SpeedPassion? Hopefully it's a "hybrid mode" feature.

I am not a team driver (for tekin at least) and was just given the opportunity to test it so I really don't know what I can or can't say, but it was openly talked about at my track.

It doesn't matter if your motor is fixed timing or not it will work equally well...I'll leave it at that

The timing boost software works in sensored only mode and will drastically help the performance of the fixed endbell motors.

Check with your loca tekin drivers if you want the software. I'm sure the'll all be more than happy to help you out with it.

Wow. My fixed end bell SP13.5 is already wicked fast with the RS in hybrid mode and the timing at 90%. Are you telling me it'll be even better if I run it sensored-only with this "boost"?
