Default Airtronics Mx-3 Fhss

Hey guys so i read that they were slated for a early june release, does anyone have any news on this? And how does this compare to the 3pm FASST? I read that Fhss is theoratically better than DSS.. Whats the verdict?

for those using this radio, do you have to bind the receiver to the radio every time you use it?

It's been out since at least the beginning of the year or so - runs about $180 with the transmitter and receiver from all the big name hobby shops.

i know the date of the original post, but isn't this the mx-3 fhss thread? that's the reason i put my question here. why start another thread? i ask my question because i have about ten receivers working off this radio and almost everytime i want to use it i need to re bind the receivers to the radio.

Do you set each receiver to be a different model? I would think you wouldn't have to rebind if you did that, but then I've only had the radio for about 3 days now.

I think there are only 2 type transmission we are talking about here, FASST vs DSS. FHSS is a general group name for 2.4Ghz.

Frequency-hopping spread spectrum - FHSS (group name for general spread spectrum 2.4Ghz devices)

FutabaŽ Advanced Spread Spectrum Technology - FASST (Futaba's 2.4Ghz)

Dynamic Spread Spectrum - DSS (Sanwa/Airtronics's 2.4Ghz)

as I read about sometime ago. the FASST has a bit faster respond time because the frequency-hopping action is sequential (less processing time if same type of processor is used). DSS uses dynamic frequency-hopping which means transmiter send out a code first before receiver can use it to synchronize (more processing time if same type of processor is used).

the DSS is cabpable to have more clients tough, about 2 billions.
