Default Why not tune with tire stager?

When sedan first started i remember people running different compounds front to back for tuning and just wondering why racers no longer do this.

Also, I would put it down to the voltage jump/rip in cells from the 1700/2000mah era to our current 4200+ demands more grip in the corners

Thanks for the reply, I see it being done in foam tires where different compounds are used in the front VS back and just curious why this is not done with rubber tires especially in asphalt racing....

It seems like i try this at every big race that i have been to lately, softer fronts or softer rears. everytime trying to acomplish one thing or the other but it never seems to do what i have in mind. So i think that the set-ups are too specialised to do this and have instant results. for me this also goes for stagering tires bigger or smaller on the front or rear.

sorry, didnt know we were talking rubber here. I think that 4 of the softest rubber tires that wont overheat will be the best. I would not be against running different inserst front and rear. before spec tires i would normally run the same tire and insert front and rear but i would always do something different to the insert or wheel to make the rear a bit softer or more air gap.

Some people do. I think the reason most people don't is it's not generally required to make the car work right, and it's more expensive. Most of the time with rubber tire you find which tires work on the track by observing others and just run those.

I see some people mixing 32/36 depending..sometimes more steering is required, sometimes less. People will run a harder front tire if their finding their fronts fading too fast, etc...
