If you are referring to my registration time post, yes I messed that up. I know I have to be online at 8, so that is all that matters to me.

Hi everyone, been working hard to get things finalized for the 2008 IIC and we have some very exciting news to announce today. When we started the IIC back in 2005 we tried our hardest to bring the best event we could to you the racers. Our goal was to bring the worlds best racers to one of the most exciting cities in the US. Our original home for the IIC was the legendary Stardust hotel, as most of you know the Stardust met the wrecking ball so we had to find a new location for the IIC. Most of the staff that was working at the Stardust moved to the South Coast and that allowed us a smooth transition to the new hotel. After 2 successful years at the South Coast we wanted to try and find a way to get the IIC back on to the World Famous “STRIP”

I am very excited to announce that the Battle on the Strip is back. The 2008 International Indoor Championships will be held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino! The Riviera is located very close to where the Stardust hotel was and allows access to all that Las Vegas has to offer. The venue will take us back to the style that the inaugural IIC had with an intimate ballroom and great feeling.

This is not the only change we have in store for participants of these years IIC. We will be changing the race schedule a bit also. Schedule for the week will be as follows

Monday August 25th Track set up… Pits open at 7pm for racer pit setup.
Tuesday August 26th 2 rounds Practice heats
Wednesday Aug 27th 2 rounds Practice heats
Thursday Aug 28th 2 rounds Qualifying heats Resort after 2nd round
Friday Aug 29th 2 rounds Qualifying heats Resort after round 3
Saturday Aug 30th All Finals.
Sunday Aug 31st Awards Buffet Banquet 2pm Included with race entry.

We are really looking forward to having our awards banquet at the end of the event. This will give everyone a nice opportunity to socialize and toast the winners. We will also be giving away our door prizes during this banquet. The banquet will be buffet style giving everyone a chance to get a great meal to finish off their time in Vegas and this will be included with your race entry.

I am still finalizing the classes we will be running but will have that posted this week.
2 Classes I can announce is a new class to the racing world as well as the IIC. We will be running WORLD GT. This is the new Pan Sedan chassis with GT style bodies. We will be running this class with Spec tires and will have a list of Approved Bodies allowed in this class. All info will be listed later this week with all the rules and specs.

The other class will be also new. It is our Amateur Class. There will finally be a class where Non sponsored racer have a division of their own. These days everyone is so concerned about being sponsored many just to boast other so they can post it in their signature on RCTECH. Well if you are sponsored or get help at all congratulations, but you will not be allowed in Amateur. This division is designed for the casual racer, the regular club racer. Now you have a reason to come run at one of the largest events in the world. This division will follow all sedan rules and will run on Rubber tires. More info about this division will be posted with others.

Hotel reservations: All IIC participants must stay at the Riviera hotel to be able to race in the IIC, with the exception of Las Vegas Residents. You can call 800-634-6753 or 702-794-9412 and use code IIC " International Indoor Championships" when you call.
Big challenge for us to move to the strip was getting hotel room prices that were not 150 dollars a night. We are happy to say we worked an OUTSTANDING! deal on rooms. Room rates are $85 during the week and $99 on Fri,Sat,Sun. Make sure you mention the code IIC when you book. Again all racers must use IIC code when booking for the event.

All of us at the IIC look forward to seeing everyone this August at the Riviera. Entries will on online on May 5th, so make sure you set you calendar to be ready to enter. Last year event sold out in 7 hours so make sure you are ready. We will again be having online registration with CC or Pay Pal. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Thanks
Scotty

Awesome Scotty & Boomer!!!

Thanks for putting on the best RC race in the world. Back on the strip, and the new schedule looks great with a real banquet too.

I already ordered my 10th car from Speed Merchant. Bring on World GT and some gambling!
