I think it's a "quick release" connector for his transponder. Great Idea... I think I'll have to steal it!

I see this has been moved/edited? Anyway, the "quick release" is a Deans micro plug. I use these on my PT as I only have one and I use it on 3 cars. Saves from wearing out the Rx plug and makes switching the PT to another car much easier.
