Questions?? Tekin R1 Pro

I'am planning to buy a new brushless esc, I'am concerned on tekin R1 pro. So is there any problems, can I use an other brand's motor and does it have any heat problems. Thx...

The R1 works great with their motors. Starts aren't so great with some of the sensored motors out there.

I don't know about heat. I haven't seen one run in mod yet.

So far, I've had better luck with the Novaks but I think that Tekin RS will be pretty good when it comes out.

how about with the trinity duo motors (like 13.5 and 17.5 when available). Is there issues going that route as well?

R1 Pro does well with the Redline motors. At first I checking the on-board Temp sensor. I was running hot, so i went with a smaller pinion, to where it was fine.
Just replaced to Trinity DUO 3.5 Although it's a sensored motor it works fine. on speed runs, checking it on the track today. See how it reacts to heat. R1 does ok with sensored or non-sensored motor.
Will like to compare the R1 to the RS ESC. RS is in line of sensored motors, an suppose to run on non-sensored motors.

It doesn't work well enough to race with my Novak 10.5, so my guess is it won't run the 13.5 and 17.5 either.

Did anyone update his R1? Does it work better with sensored 13.5? Has it a effect on tekin's redline motors?

I have the R1 pro & Novak 13.5 SS and I am not sure if it is worth to buy the hotwire or just buy a sensored ESC...

Thanks for your comment

I would wait to see what Tekin are going to do for people in your case. Jim already said on RC Tech that they were thinking of an exhange program for customers who bought R1s to use in stock brushless. But first you have to wait the the RS to be out.

If you allready own an R1 the Hotwire is available for the latest updates. If you purchse one it should have the latest I would think. The R1 performs flawlessly with the Redline motors. They are very smooth with awsome torque. People that have used the hotwire have reported good news running other brand motors but I cannot comment on that as we haven't had the oppurtunity to run others after updating.
However the RS is in testing now along with the new Tekin Lipo batteries. Keep your eyes and ears open Tekin is on the move!!

Heat has not been an issue. The thing is built like a tank.
