I'm about to make something for myself. I have the RPM cases, but the pegs aren't a consistant diameter, so some pinions of the same make fall right off, and some are hard to get on/off. Plus, if you tighten the set screw, it disfigures the plastic (which can cause the above), and if you don't you end up losing your set screws as they rattle around and fall out when you open the case. I want something like the RPM, but a little bigger to accomodate bigger pinions, and with steel pins with flat spots so I cant "set" the set screw. If I realy think about it I will space the pins differently as they go and then number them for the appropriate pinion. A trip to Walmart, Homedepot, and Hobby Lobby is in order. I am thining a simple blank wooden case, a drill press, some blank 1/8th" steel, a dremel, some CA, and some math should do it . . . Maybe even something double sided with a lid on either side . . .
For right now though I have seen people use the paragon rack and skip pins to accomodate the larger pinions . . .

If you put one pinion on with the teeth by the rack and the next one with the teeth away from the rack you should be able to store larger pinions.

I would like to see someone make a pinion caddy that spaces out the pegs according to the pinion size. In other words, the pegs would gradually be spaced farther apart as the pinions get larger. This would allow you to fit the most pinions possible on a caddy.

There's a guy over on HobbyTalk that is making pinion holders for the LARGE Pinions.

OK fokes-
Here's what I came up with. It seems to meet all of my wants/needs.
I cut the pegs off from an RPM case and redrilled holes slightly smaller tahn a 3 mm screw in locations that meet my large pinion needs. It allows me to set the screw so I don't lose them, protects the gears, and is pretty cheap. Pics only show one, but you can put these where ever you want once you cut all the pegs of.
