Default LRP 13.5, anyone have a go yet?

I saw that the LRP 13.5 became available last week via AE here in the US, but have not had any luck finding one yet. Anyone brave enough to pay retail ordering one direct, or have seen one run in person? The part number doesn't show up yet on the usual suspects websites yet. I have two Novak 13.5's that are near and dear to me, but I can always be swayed by something newer and shinier....

Part number and pricing:
LRP Vector X-11 13.5-turn Brushless Modified Motor, standard rotor
LRP50631
Retail: $129.99
UPC#: 84695 99595
Available Now

Mike,

I have been using the LRP Eraser 13.5 for the last 6 or so weeks now. Running in the stock class, the speed is quite similar, but obviously has a lot more torque. ESC is the NOSRAM Matrix Evo 07 version. I have not used the Novak 13.5s, so I can't give you direct comparisions.

Agreed, that does scare the bejeesus out of me. Especially once some yahoo (and I no doubt will be guilty of this...) slaps in a sintered rotor. I wonder if it is a coincidence that I ordered an LRP sintered rotor this week....?

Going by pure watt rating, which is subjective of course, the LRP with bonded rotor doesn't give much up to the sintered Novak. Not a good sign.

What type of FDR or roll-out are you running? I know with the Novaks' (this is sintered mind you) just keep going and going with astronomical gear ratios. Near 40mm roll-outs are not uncommon around here with the Novak. Once we started hanging the big gears on the sintered Novak a pronounced difference started appearing among the average Joe's. I also wonder if we will see an eraser version over here. We get a full blown X-11 spec.

There will many people over here waiting with baited breath for such a comparison. It has the potential to be.... um.. a point of contention to put it mildly over here.

Thanks,

The track is very tight and small, and the roll-out I'm running at the moment is 30.5mm/rev. I hope that you guys get the Erasers as they are quite a bit cheaper than the X11s. I think about almost half the price. I have not gone up in gearing at the moment as i'm still setting the car up. Coming out of corners with the Eraser 13.5 is pretty un-nerving.... Here's a pic of the track.

I'll see if i can borrow a novak 13.5 for comparision....

http://www.lrp-electronic.de/e/lis/0...Page_07-02.pdf

Specs and stuff is all there. They list the 13.5 as the 23-turn equivalent though....

Looking at the spec sheets, the Eraser 13.5 is down on wattage and rpm compared to the Novak 13.5.

Nah... no sintered rotors.... YET!

hehehe.... yeah, it doesn't look it. But lap times of around 12sec per lap for stock, and around 10sec for mod makes it look kinda small in comparision to the outdoor track!

A good starting point is "snide remarks" then once you hit "death threats" go down a tooth or to until you hit "bodily harm" from your fellow brushed stock racers.

Be careful with the power you will wield afterwards. You have the potential to light up RCTech like a "were to next" or "stock pros need to ...." thread.

I can't wait to hear your results....
