We found what was available to us. Looks like St. Ids might be done, although most of us agreed that would have been a good one. Steel Reserve- for the record- was terrible.

I didn't see any significant difference on the long back straight with anyone in my run groups and race. Appears that most makes of 13.5 motors (Novak, Hacker, Speed Passion and Losi) are very close. A couple people were questioning their LRP 13.5 motors; but, maybe they hadn't figured out their gearing at that point in time. I believe Speedworld had sold every make of 13.5 they had in stock by Sunday.

Some people geared for either the back straight OR infield; so, FDR ranges I heard from others were 4.20 to 4.55. I ended up with 4.41 for infield punch with my Novak 13.5 (no motor fans); but, people that could carry more speed through the infield were often in the lower FDRs indicated (usually with motor fans). The weather was cool for most of the weekend which allowed some additional gearing up.

And because the Reedy Race rules required us to run the purple rings on our 13.5s, the LRP heatsink with 30mm fan option was a very popular add-on.
