When is the deadline to determine what the control tire will be? At this point in time has the tire options been narrowed down?

Jimmy J.- No matter what the handout is it better be able to handle the heat. The track temps are already triple digits and it's only going to get hotter.

HANDOUT TIRES?
I don't thing RP's are an option anymore. I would think Sorex has the edge then Jaco and last would be Muchmore's. After that what else is there?
Then again it's all about availability?
If there's 150 entries and each racer is allowed 4 sets each not counting the Pro drivers and then at least another 2 to 4 sets for practice. were talking a ton of premonted tires. Who has that many tires available?
Just my2$

I was not too thrilled about the several out-of-round Jaco Greens I got just before and while at the Carpet Nats.
For my 3 allowed sets of premounted Jacos (total 12), I deemed that only 7 were suitable for qualifying/racing at the event. Fortunately, ROAR wisely decided to allow us to mix sets after being shown the issues. Good call ROAR!
And the set I used for practice runs on Wed/Thur was derived from two sets.
Gave up on using a simple Tamiya camber gauge touching the sidewalls of my Jacos. Had to pull out my Hudy setup station to get consistent camber readings.

RP30's will not work so well at SWR in late May. outside temps will be in the mid to high 90's and the track surface should probably be in the 120 range.

Sorex 36 and RP 36 had a good feel Sat. But I heard Jaco Blues worked good also. So any 36 rating tire should work, just minor setup changes will be needed per setup.
The track was fun to drive, just wish I had a practice day before going there.. ITS HUGE!!. This was the first time I got to see the mod motors open up and unleash the power, first time to see mods differ in performance.. VERY NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!
