Since takeoffs and RP's are no longer making tires i'm looking at sorex. What sorex tire is the same or very close to the cs-27???? I can't fine a chart for them at all. This is what i was refering to:

The CS tires are strange. Even though you would think the CS27 is too soft for asphalt its the best CS series compound for asphalt. It also is very good on carpet. No other tire has such a broad operational range.

Sorex tires are different.

For running on asphalt the Sorex 36R is best. This tire is a lot softer than the number would lead you to think and works well from cool to blazing hot weather.

For running on carpet the Sorex 28R is best. This tire is awesome on carpet and has a lot of grip.

what about sorex 24r for carpet? any good?

I have to agree with Adrian. Sorex 28s are awesome for carpet. The sorex 24s are a little better grip wise but wear out very fast. In my experience they last half as long as the 28s with only slightly better grip.

I found these values on another thread. I dont know if these are right or not.

Temperature ranges:
Sorex as follows:
28R - 68-84
32R - 81-96
36R - 96-151
40R - 120-170

Take OFF CS:
CS22 - 32-86
CS27 - 50-122
CS32 - 68-140
CS37 - 104-158

RR - those temperature ranges are pretty close, but it all depends on track surface, preparation, car setup, and inserts.

36's will work at lower temperatures than stated, but warmers are a must have.

CS27's work all the way up to 150*F if used with the proper traction compounds (Tire Tweak or SXT 2.0). CS32's are useless unless you run on ultra high traction indoor asphalt like Seattle Indoor Raceway or HobbyTown Frederick Raceway in MD. CS37 are almost drift tires...lol!

If its COLD you can run Sorex 28R or 32R outdoors but if the track is over 80*F the 36R will last longer and be just as fast.

I must say Sorex are the best tires in the industry. Hands down...!

The 40R are so good and last quite well under the blazing sun in the tropics!
