Yes it works, the mars-R does not work with the old receiver though.

VenomWorldOrder: The old Radio WILL NOT work with the new receiver. I've tried my old MARS with two different 301F receivers. The Mars R works flawlessly with the new receivers, however not at the 40% faster rate available with the 301 recv'r.

YES, the new 301 receiver can be used with the old MARS. I tried it and ran it for a whole day with out any problems. I have the 2000 Type R if that makes any difference(which I don't think it will).

YES, the new reciever (KR301F) will work with the old Mars. However, the new Mars R will not work with the old reciever because of the refresh rate.

Venom World Order: I tried two different 301's on 27 mhz, and neither of them worked with my 27 band Mars radio, Oddly enough, my best friend can run his cars with the old 297 receiver and his Mars R all day long no problems. According to Chris Doseck, who is a KO Factory driver, The new radio works with the old receivers, but the new receivers don't work with the old radio. Just what I've experienced and been told by a KO driver. Maybe try e-mailing KO for actual confirmation on the topic.

There have been several threads on this topic. Even the KO website says the new radio will NOT work with the old receiver and the old radio WILL work with the new receiver.

The add in the Mag says the same thing, but if you e-mail Robert at KO. You know, somebody who actually works for KO, you'll get a different answer.
