A123 Brick Packs, Big News
Many have cried that A123 is not making cells to fit our current cars. Well they listened. Right now they are making brick packs for 6-Cell cars.
Price around $65, Capacity unknow
I only assume 4-cell bricks are on the way! Good news for Oval and 1/12 racers who want to save the NiMH for the mains.

my only question is this. you can either a a pack @ 6.6 or 9.9, Well my club has allowed any Ni--xx based and any Li-xx batteries. the only rule we cannot exceed 6000Mah. and the nominal voltage of 7.4 volts or less.
So how would a 6.6 conpare to a 7.4 LIpo or a 6 cell Lipo pack.

I have no experience with a123, but i have with 5 cell wich seems about the same voltage.
In modified, with longer gear ratio and hotter winds 5 cell is at least as fast as 6 cell.
If you run stock you would be at great disavantage.
Hope this helps.

They produce cells that are the same width as an AA cell. You can find 2 of them in a black & decker $20 battery pack. They are 3.3volt 1100mah cells. 8 of these cells would make a good brick pack that should fit into your car. Plus you could charge the 4400mah pack at like 20 amps.

I've looked at those packs to... they are interesting for those that cant fit the M1, but at 80 bucks (just the loose cells) for a 6.6v battery they are to expensive for me.

I think people missed the boat on what I posted.
Totally new cells, new pacakage.
Price about $65 per pack. Same looks and fitment as other LiPO bricks but slightly lower voltage.
And stock racing would hurt? Well have you looked at Novak's line up of motors for stock racing with LiPO in the oval adn 1:12 scale racing. 25.5 and 21.5 turn motors, so going to a slightly hotter motor would mean 17.5...hmm that would be ROAR's stock motor.
