What do you do if your car's rear end slides?

What are things you check if your rear end slides going into corners?

Some details;
- Touring rubber stock (23T)
- Other than changing to a new set of tires.
- For both outdooe asphalt and indoor carpet

well you have a number of options

what do you want to change?

is your cars rear end sliding on entry, middle or exit of the corner?

Ferrarimk13 02-17-2008 04:28 PM

is the rear end too hard? not too good with touring cars, but that usually helps with my onroad nitro.

For starters you could just try and add some traction compund to the rear tires.

ok some all round help to stop the back sliding; soften the rear springs, more camber not more than a total of 2.5 degrees and some toe in in the rear

that should help

sorry double post

ohhh, i thought you were going to say " if the rear end slides, keep it going and go drifting" lol, guess not.

It slides entering the corner.
I know there are numerous things to change, and i'd want to change anything that eliminate this.

I was using soft springs for the rear. Hard springs for the front.

Was using soft springs at the rear, camber 1.5° rear, 1.5° front. Rear 3° toe-in.

you can try letting off the throttle a little:D

try reducing your rear droop a bit, you're transfering too much weight to the front when you let off the throttle upon corner entry....

xraysteve 02-17-2008 06:34 PM

i would try less rear droop. not less the 1 1/2 mill. then i would try to experiment with a rear sway bar. they some times add traction and sometimes takes it away. you should also try and make your rear camber link longer and or level. lay the shocks down in the rear. try and if something dos not feel good put it back and try something else always one at a time. all else fails put some anti dive in. that is when the front henge block is lower then the rear front henge block. but if your car steers the way you like it then you will have to change your caster block. go to 6 degrees. if all that dos not work let me know. good luck.
