Thanks OD. I always mis-spell that, and when it gets pointed out want to punish myself for not having a V8...

That was pretty much the vegas set-up aside from glued fronts not much changed.

I can say the sport performed wonderfully, and is also a top level competitor. I know that I didn't really test the full capability of the sport chassis. I did have to add 1/2oz of lead to hit weight after some dieting...

I got to the track too late last night to actually set-up a pit. I am hoping for practice on Friday to turn some laps with Sophia... - that sounds so much better than play with toy cars, thanks Dale.

Quick Question.

Does it make sense to convert a Rev 4 into a Pro10? Just thinking if there is a cost saving to convert as all you'll need is the Pro-10 chassis and rear axle / hubs?

Basically, I have an outdoor Rev 4 chassis just sitting in my hobby room doing nothing...

I checked the website and was unable to find a conversion Kit...perhaps someone from Speedmerchant can respond directly...

IMHO: it would make sense as I'm sure there are tons of racers who have unused 1/12th scales.

Odpurple: How's the project Rev 5 coming...let me know when its ready to rumble as its starting to get cold here on the east coast...besides, I'm going to ask you for your help on the Pro-10 project shortly.

Carl, the rear pod on the Pro-10 is also wider than the Rev.4 pod. It better accommodates brushless motors, and also centers the mass within the pod. I am sure that you can have it work, but you may want more than just the chassis plate and nerf wings... I am sure that is all you need to convert an old Rev.4...

The tweak brace is not going to be the same either. Figure a 12th scale is about 172mm in width where as the WGT car is 200mm in width.

thanks for the responses...they all make sense...which is why I asked if a conversion kit was available.

I thought the Rev 4 motor pod would work as i noticed somewhere it lloked the same as the entry level 1/10th scale on-road chassis...in any event I figured once a brushless was wired into the Rev 4 motor pod (which was neatly done by ODPurople) i could transfer to the 1/10th scale as i do not expect to have to replace the motor frequently.

I'll probably just pick-up a new kit but thought to ask the question.

Just got my SpeedMerchant Pro-10 on Friday, got it built in record time and on the track the next morning for Saturday's race. All I got to and holy crap, this thing was a BLAST to drive.

Could some of the other SpeedMerchant Pro-10 drivers please post their setups, as there are none to be found.

My setups was the following:

Red Tube Spooge
.23" Side Springs - tweak screws backed all the way out
.22" BMI Linear front Springs
Team Tamale Aluminum Inline steering blocks - wide
Team Tamale Aluminum Bulkheads
3.5mm Front Ride Height
3.5mm Middle Ridge Height
4.0mm Rear Ride Height
Pod Droop = 2mm
Front/Rear Jaco Lilac Spec Tires at 56.0mm
1-deg Caster
3.5-deg Camber
Caster/Camber stand-offs: Stock Brass + 3mm Alum Spacer
Corvette C6 body

i'm not a team driver, nor did have i run my F-10 with inline blocks yet but i do have two suggestions:
#1 - cut your tires down to 55mm -- the lilacs don't wear and the car will handle better (assuming carpet)
#2 - your car seems a little low. i think 4mm is the minimum ride height per the rules: http://worldgtrc.com/

you may also choose to use a heavier front spring. i think i've run associated .022.

Just thought I would share a shot of my Formula 10.

It just might be the most fun you can have with an RC car
