Default Tire truing

Hey Guys
Does anybody know where to get those grit boards that I've seen Hebert & Chicky use after truing tires to smooth down the edges?

What are the most popular locations to add weight?

Also the front end is a hair wider to smooth out the car a bit.

If you want one or info just shoot an email to [email protected]
I ran my car for the first time last night with the new On Point chassis. All I can say is this thing is sweet! My car was incredible and even more consistent than before. My 12R5.1 was already really good and this just made it better. If you're serious about racing a 12R5 I'd definitely add this to the list of must haves.

They're also available at Stormer too.

To be more specific, I was going to add the Hudy weight under the battery to add rigidity to the chassis. If addition weight was nessesary, I was going to add it around the center line on the bottom of the rear pod.

Do the hudy weight fit snuggly into the battery slots? Has anyone added weight to the rear pod? I'm curious as to what this will do for the handling.

Put the weight where you need it to balance the chassis front to rear, left to right, and avoid additional tweak.

I'ver tried searching this thread and no luck. What is the best way and how much diff lube do you use on the front kingpins?

I smear a small drop on the lower portion of the king pin that slides up and down in the lower arm pivot ball. A coating is typically all that is needed.

As far as I know, you don't add any diff lube to the front kingpins. You really don't need any lube on them. Some people use graphite dust, light oils, but it really not neccessary. Just make sure the kingpins move freely, and aren't binding.

x2. This is exactly what I do as well.

People add the lube to help dampen the front end. It helps in smoothing things out and aiding in better consistency up front. To each there own as I know fast guys who kingpin dampening, and others who don't.

I would recommended you not worry about the kingpin lube yet. It is a little messy, and unless you're committed to attending to it every other run or so, you will not gain any consistency. For you Bill, I would suggest staying on top of your tire sizes, ride height, camber and diff. If you really want though come by my room and I'll show you how/where the lube goes.

Sounds good Andrew. I got lucky and scored a large lot of 12R5 parts on ebay which helps as I broke a few things at the fall classic (cracked the rear axle and the left front steering knuckle). I will be there on 12/5 for the next club race and hopefully will get a bunch of practice in Thanksgiving day weekend.

Anybody tried lowering the 5 pivot balls by 0.6mm?

Something there doing in Europe on the for V-Dezign CR4 which helps improve the handling. The CR 4 uses the AE pivot balls etc
