Start off with a 39 tooth pinion and 76 spur gear. Check your motor temp and don't let it get above 150 degrees. Continue to check tire diameter and motor temp. For starters, gear between 120 to 150 degrees with the motor. Take risks later. Someone here can post a link for a rollout chart. My rollout chart is on my phone.

hello , i pretty new to this hobby , as my main thing is 1/5th scale racing .
But for the winter i ordered an RC12R5 with the following stuff :
JACO front and rear prism tyres ( double pink and pink ones )
LRP 10.5 stock spec motor
29 and 30 pinions ( to go with the stock 96 spur , motor has 39mm rollout according to lrp website )
protoform 12 body
futaba 9650 servo
and some spares ( axles , front arms etc )

anyone who has suggestions for this setup feel free to reply

All is good except you will probably need a smaller spur gear (88t?) You will need to aim for a gear ratio of around 55mm/rev. See posts above for a gear chart. Have Fun!

i would go novaks site, im sure that the roll out for the novak motors is pretty close to the orions. and check the sugested roll out for the motors.
http://www.teamnovak.com/tech_info/b...r_gearing.html

then go to gearchart.com and figure out your roll out. that should let you know what pinion to use.

i use pink and dbl pinks on mine for asphalt and they work pretty well.

In on of Jack Rimmer's posts he noted that d.pink f/r is pretty standard for asphalt for stock and mod. I don't run asphalt or know your track size, both of these can affect ideal rollout.

Jacos double pink is not a 2 stage tire.

Default Setting the tweak on a R5?

How are you guys setting the tweak on your R5'S? Tweak station, coin trick, withor without the side damper atached?
Also how much pre tension are you running on your side springs? Here in the U.K using JtG type additive the black side springs (i.e soft) are being used by everybody.
Car is great, I am loving the corner speed!

Default servo saver??

hey guys....

Anyone know which type of servo the saver that comes with the kit is actually used for? The splines don't seem to fit my Futaba 9650. Suggestions for the correct servo for the job?

Airtronics, JR, KO. Unfortunately Futaba requires a different servo saver.
