One of the racers at my local track said the car was metric apart from the rear axle so you might need metric drivers.

Uh oh!
Anyone here can help with the tools? Reason is I want to have those tools on hand when I buy the kit.

I'm just curious, do 12R5 owners visit any other forum with 12R5 thread? It's just that this thread sleeps and have to flip pages to go to this thread or is it this kit is not popular? Just curious and not looking for flames...

Thanks for the info Rob!

i cant find 9257's anywhere for sale. anyone have any other models that they prefer? the hitec one i had for my l4 is not wide enough. what fits the mount points?

I'm using Futaba's in my R5. 9650 digital and metal gears, but quit heavy, and 9602, plastic gears.
I had an Sanwa, 95xxx these are good, but hard to get.

Use Futaba the're great... Ko's are sometimes nog that good and Hitec... don't even think about buying the, they don't go back to the centerpoint that wel...

goodluck

Greetings Robert

2.5mm
2.0mm
1.5mm
3/32
1/16

I also use the Futaba 9650, great servo!

I like the 9257 for the speed, but I'm a little concerned about the 17.8oz. torque rating... I wonder if that's really enough for the job. I might have to try one tho...

Futaba 9602 Analog servo
Futaba 9650 Digital servo
KO 949 Digital servo
KO 951 Digital servo

All good servos, just choose which fits your budget or your personal preference.

Has anyone figured out what size of allen wrench the side links take.

It does not match anything I have or anything in the kit.

I used my .050 for the side links. It was a little loose, but no problem because you don't actually make those screws tight, you just get them to touch and stop there.

I have what will sound like a very stupid question.

The rear axle spacers are 3 on one side and 3 on the other. So I measured from hub to center hole on both sides, and it appears to off. I would think that by now a kit would at least have you put the correct spacers on the correct side to center the rear axle.

Or is there some magical balance thing, where the offset axle makes the rear pod balanced.
