I realy dont want to get it if I cant race it. I race at the roadrunners in camarillo. So what class would I have to run in? They had an F1 rubber and a 1/12 17.5 sportsman. I have no idea of what class this is in.

Sounds like the 1/12 17.5 sportsman is the class for you and we have been having some great racing at Norcal raceway in the 1/12 17.5 class. Almost the largest class next to TC 17.5 here with two heats

I have raced 12th for many years as well as many different classes and it's still my favorite after 26 years...

Have fun

The 5.1 is made to accommodate a brushless motor which are usually 50-75 bucks I think. All the 1s lipos are basically the same I believe within a mm or so

Good luck and let us know how your first race goes

See ya

I think the reedy is the best out as some have said

So for about 30 dollars more you'll have the best battery out but I use a 5300 mah 50c battery in mod and it's plenty for run time and power

Looking for some setup help.

I just bought the new 12r5.1 inline kit and am looking for some setup help. I usually use the base kit setup on my r5 and have always just kept everything middle of the road... Our onroad track is not permanent so we do not see a very high level of traction the carpet is often rolled up and then setup each week for the races.

With the new kit is there a setup that someone would call a base setup or a good starting point for everyone?

Thanks!

I'm not sure if this matters much but does anybody know why the lower arms are said to be universal if they are actually made in lefts & rights?
I ask because my newly finished kit had the same side arms. In other words once on the car, one pivot ball would be pressed in from the top & one from the bottom.
A set of new arms were going on a rebuilt car & they were the other side....
I did a switcheroo & both cars now have R & L arms now with all the pivot balls pressed in from the top.(like in the instructions pic)
Thanks.

I'm interested in this too. I just built mine with the arms that came with the kit, so one has the ball pressed in from the top, the other from the bottom. I thought it was strange but couldn't see a way around it.

I think something is up as I just bought another two packs of arms for spares & one pack had lefts, the other rights.

Here you go http://teamassociated.com/setupsheets/RC12R5.1/

I think there about 6 setups for inline setup and all before we're standard 5.1 setups

Of course these tracks are high grip usually at big race but it might be helpful for you
