Since coming back to RC 2 years ago, I'm having more fun than ever.
The local track here, TQRC is epic.
12th scale is the only racing that could have brought me back.
So stoked it's gaining more & more momentum again.

Cleveland Turkey race... Don't tempt me Cypress.
That race used to be awesome, how's the turnout been the last few years ?

Magenta are the most popular compound for that application.

Default RC12R5.2 Side Lipo

Setup update for running Lipo sideways (Not Inline).

After another day of testing at TQRC
For those looking for an "optional" setup.

The new longer - wider front end, chassis seems better (imho) with more weight on rear than 5.1, this increased steering, with improved balance for 8 mins.

So your using the inline chassis but with non-inline placement?

Lap times?

Can you explain droop for front and back? Drawing?

I never remembered messing with droop with 12th at least not on purpose...lol

What does Ride height adjuster mean? 1.75?

What's the turnout for TQRC on fridays, sun?

Earlier in a post I asked what that track in riverside was called? Can you remember

Did you give up on the inline

Thanks

Spring not fully pre-loaded

Axle ride height adjust block

Depends on the weekend, Fridays are cool due to the longer hours Sean keeps the track open, but hard to get to when you live 1+ hrs away without traffic

Bob & Jims Rc World

No, my only experience with the new car has been inline, wanted to see how it reacted to the old sideways lipo. With so many changes, it's difficult to pinpoint what the inline lipo configuration affects, and what it does not.
This way I learned a lot about the rest of the refinements on the 5.2 chassis.

Thanks

Default setup help please

Just getting back into the indoor carpet season soon. Can anyone suggest what tires to use for Med-High Ozite Carpet track for 17.5 boosted and for 10.5 boosted Classes? I run Jacos but giving me shore ratings would be great too!

What I remembered was I tried yellow rears and black/purple fronts for 17.5 Boosted ran pretty good.

Thanks.

Guy's

After many years of 12th scale racing and 2 years racing with the 5.1 I'm doubting.
I've got two R5.1's and I want to have an inline update on my R5.1's
I think the Assocaited Alluminium is pretty weak, and the pod or the motormount will bend with (hard) crashes.... I really don't like that. I can work with the pod bending, but I dislike the motormount bending. I think it's to weak.
But I really like the rest ofthe complete car, the front end, the dampers, all of it!

Now Markus Mobers has it's update from On Point, and I really really dislike the collor, and dislike the damper tubes. I never had a problem with the Associated side damper. But I can understand that this pod will deffently tweak less easy, and I hope the Aluminium is stronger.

But the Assocaited update still has the weak aluminium pod. But then again it's nice and blue (I know it's not a good point, but I just love the blue) and has the nice side damper. And mabe I could by a Team Tamale Motormount....

What would you choose or advise me.

Regards

Robert Krens

I've been using the 5.1 and WGT for two years at a track that mixes all levels of driver in the same heat. We have had some spectacular crashes and somehow the AE motor pods seem to remain straight. They must not know how weak they are. Maybe some of the CRC gang could show them how easy it is to bend and they do that quite well.

I suppose if you try hard enough you could bend anything but my guys are going into their third year as straight as an arrow.

Well I drive on a lot of tracks thru all of Europe. But my home track has wooden track barriers which are screwd down. So when I make a mistake even small, the punnishment is hard
And I'm for sure not the only one with a tweaked pod sometime

Only wood, we should have it so easy. Try support columns of concrete and steel mix in a few plumbing risers, an 18" high wooden barrier and downspout tubing screwed down as lane markers along with beginners in the same heat with seasoned drvers and you can imagine the mayhem.

Our track is a bit short at 65' so the top speeds are not as high as longer tracks.

Admittedly I have broken the rear bearing supports and smashed rear bearings but the plate isn't bent and is still as straight as new, I rebuilt the car earlier this month and checked the side plate for square.

Nice thing about the link chassis is that chssis tweak is almost gone.

Now watch, I'll end up bending it this year.

Black / Yellow is still a very good combo.
Magenta tires can drop lap times if the conditions are right.

Turnout's been pretty decent. 12th scale is still big at The Champs. 17.5, 13.5, Masters (over 35), and Mod all boosted (at least for this year). Hebert, Cyrul, Blackstock, Lemieux etc in Mod, always fun to watch. Stock was pretty strong last year, and 13.5 was big as well. Hopefully in spite of all the current issues, the race will be good this year as well.
