Default sensor wire length

Anyone care to share what is the recommended sensor length for the 5.1?
(RS/LRP - ESC/motor combo)

Thanks in advance

Sorry if this has been covered, but is there a good way to remove the pivot balls without damaging the ball or the arm? It seems like once the pivot balls are installed, they are pretty hard to remove without damaging the ball itself or the eyelet where they are installed? The ones for the side links are not a problem, but the rest of them on the car seem pretty hard to remove without messing up one or the other. Does anyone have a good trick/tool for removing the other pivot balls on the R5/5.1 without damage to any parts?

This works great. The CRC Suspension Ball Installation and Removal Tool.

It all depends on where you place the ESC. But I have used 125mm and the 150mm. Hope this helps.

I'm looking at getting one of these and have a few questions.
  • Is the 12R5.1FT the version to get, or is there another update that I'm unaware of?
  • Which tuning parts should I invest in? (part numbers if you know them)
  • Which spares do I most need to carry? (part numbers if you know them)
  • Does the side-to-side shock use grease or oil? What weight is standard? And which other weights is it a good idea to carry?
  • What is the standard weight oil in the mini-damper?
  • Any initial set-up tips for asphalt or Boral Coat would be appreciated.

Radio active,

Yes the 5.1 is current. To run in Australia you will need
Soft centre spring, green or silver
You need to shim the front lower arm ot 1.5mm each side. I use the front ride hight shims so you need one pack
Amr body
Crc purple fronts, pink rears
48p spur gear if you don't like the 64p one it comes with
Rear ride hight inserts

Kit setup is a good start with the softer spring and shims. Kit comes with 20wt for side shock and 30wt for centre shock.

Hope it helps

Thanks for the tip, that is just what I was looking for.

Madjack, I would reccomend the TQ racing sensor wires... and their 16 guage wires for 1/12 scale. Their sensor wire is very flexible just like the 16/13 guage wires they sell. They have a package where you can get 3 16 guage wires for the motor and 2 13 guage wires for the battery leads. Awesome stuff and won't mess with the rear pod movement on pan cars. Super fast shipping too, you won't be dissapointed. I recently picked up some to wire my 1/12 and 1/10 scale pan cars and I was really impressed. Awesome service too.

Default Reedy LiPo 5500mAh 3.7V 60C

This looks like a good option for an update

Each battery features Reedy’s molded hard case and industry-standard 4mm socket connectors to minimize resistance and increase power. A pair of connectors is included with each battery. The saddle pack battery also includes a 12-gauge jumper wire with pre-installed 4mm connectors

I didn't realize they were available yet.
But I'm sure they will be good, the previous vers 4600 was underrated.
