only some factory guys have em, and supposedly, their doing very well. I dont think the build would be anything interesting, as most 1/12ths go together the same.

Hi,
car is built completely and now some pictures and things I noticed during the building process.
Kit Contents:
All CFK parts ready to go:
Like in all of my cars I sand the sides of the chassis and the front in a quite low angle. In the front it is to avoid that the chassis chips when hitting a curb or something. On the sides it is to minimize the chances of bottoming out during cornering.
New Dampers:
After you understood how to build them it is quite easy and they work perfectly. Kit setup seems a bit soft and I went during practice up to a 35wt pil in the side damper. 35wt may be too much and I'll try something softer next time.
Rear Suspension:
In the car:
Center Pivot Suspension:
Complete:
The rear suspension is super free as already mentioned and works perfectly. Just a tip for spare parts. Get some links...
Front suspension:
Complete:
The new suspension is a dream regarding design, adjustability and fit. The steering knuckles require zero work to be smooth and free. The alloy parts are also a perfect fit. Only in the lower wishbone where the pivot ball sits I had to work the ball in a bit so it moves freely. Rest is perfect from the beginning...
Nearly finished:
Car is finished now and I was able to practice a bit at the local track. The car is super dialed right from the start and with minor tweaks it will be a weapon. With the L4 the track record I set right before the German Nationals and the Euros was 8.8xx. With the new car with 5 packs on it I managed to drive a 8.531. Quite impressive improvement... Even more impressive as the new car is easier to drive (especially through chicanes) and way more agile.
I'll see whether I can post some new pictures within the next days...

wow, thanks for the awesome pics!! that damper shock is cool, so it is a shock, with no spring, and a new ball stud area.

You will notice that I built the shocks not like in the instruction mentioned as I did not read it carefully enough... Fixed that later during the building process...

In fact you could to this also with the old axles. You just had to use shims on the axle instead of at the lower wishbone. Interesting is that with the new axles you can achieve a nearly 2mm narrower front track width then with the old axles.
It will be interesting to see whether it works to use some inboard toe-out.

Speedy-Chris How does it look for motor room, can you fit big gearing for today's brushless motors, and how is the rear axle hieght, is it lower than the old car, can you run small tires if you want to? Thanks!

Hi,
the motor just fits right in. You don't have to remove any parts to get the motor in or out. Soldering is a bit tricky but I'll try sometimes to dremel away some of the CFK to get a better cable management. But for now it works without a problem. No binding or tweaking.
The axle height... To be honest I don't know. I'll try it for you if I have some more time.
Same goes for the pinion/spur combination. Just by trying now I can tell you that the biggest pinion I can fit with a 96T spur gear is a 30T pinion. With 45mm tires that will get you in the 44mm rollout range. I can try a 88T later for you but I don't have any bigger pinions than 32. I think you should be able to get in the high 50's to low 60's with no problem. For anything else I can't give you a guarantee...

@Walter: The problem is the way I routed my motor wires. That way I can't put the motor more forward. But thanks for letting us know what's possible.
@Ffejdat: I looked into your question about the small tires. As you can see in the picture I mounted tires that are completely trued down. So that is 38mm. With those tires I get around 2.7mm of ride height at the rear of the pod. As you can't run them that low you'll be fine until you reach the point where the foam is already hard because of the glue.

Thanks Chris, that is good to see, that was one of the negatives of the 12l4, ran out of axle adjustment before tire... Do you have a set of fronts rime to check the same thing? Always been a diehard Assoc fan, but have gotten away from them lately, might be time to come back...

hey speedy, i noticed the damper shock has some oil on the cap, is it not tight, or was that just some that spilled over? nothing comes out right?
