yeh I had a little binding issue with mine as well, just like the guys say, shine the king pins, and try putting the ball in and out a couple of times rotating them to different spots. I used comm drops in mine, free as a bird now Hope this helps

Also one slight issue, which im hoping will bed down on its first run tomorrow, is that kingpins dont seem to have a smooth action through the arms. I made sure all the plastic pivot balls were pushed in the correct way.

I have no lube on them at the moment.

Any ideas? or will this smoothen out after a run or two.
The rear tires rubbing on the pod can easily be cured with a tire truer, by cleaning up the excess glue/foam that extends beyond the inner edge of the rim on the Jaco wheels.

Thanks.

Shining the king-pin has helped a lot, but you are right that the balls aren't freely rotating.. 1 is but the rest stick or are stiff.

Ill try popping them in and out a few times to make sure there is no mould marks, and ill try adding some com drops or other lube.

I just started using 1s lipo in my 12R5.1, should I change the front, center and side springs? What color? Change shock oils? Weight?

Check this page out for setups. Its where I got mine from

btw im not able to post links yet, until i met a post limit, so you will have to follow these instructions.

go to petitrc.com

browse the left until you see setup sheets and manuals, click that. Then find 12r5

Loads there for different grip, surface.

all of my setups are on the website. The best setup i have found is the one under this years indoor champs. This also works very good in 13.5 and 10.5. It has not been tested in 17.5. setup is 2009 us indoorchamps.

here is the link to the setups . then search drivers look for me or set it for the car.

thinkin of a 1/12th scale.. found a decent deal on 5r I spend some time trying to figure out the differences from 5 to 5.1... can 5.1 parts be obtained to update the 5?

Thanks.

Yes they can, there was a list somewhere in this thread but I don't recall where... I think the part #'s are 4687, 4688 and ther are 2 others.
left and right pod plates, pod brace and graphite upper pod plate. Note: if the car does not have the 10r pod plate conversion you will also need the wider lower graphite pod plate.

I think that's all...
