Don't know if anyone noticed, but Scotty is having a class at Vegas for Pro-10's/GT10's this year. He's calling it "World GT", with a spec tire, and a approved body list.

I think it was said before but I think that if this class can really take off in the next 6-9 months, I think that there is a good chance that a major pan car event could be run and a fairly good turnout be had. I tried something like that a couple years ago and it went horribly across the board (mostly because I am not the kind of person that knows much about event planning and all that goes into it). Anyway, I think having an event with 2 classes each for Pro10 235, GT10 200, and 12th scale would be a pretty good idea. I also mentioned that with LiPo and brushless becoming more and more prevalent, I think that there is a market in place for having enduros for pan cars as well.

We've run a 48 min Enduro each year with batteries, no lipo's allowed. it is open to pan cars, touring, off road .... what ever, but you have to run two drivers, so good speed, handling and easy battery change is required.

I even dusted off an NOS Bolink Enduro that I had in my parts bin. The car raised a lot of ebrows, but lack of testing did it in.

Yeah it is. You could do three also (1 each Pro10, GT10, and 12th scale) if that is more workable.

Albeit my own opinion - I think trying to include 1/12th scale is a mistake. While I understand that the cars, and potential driver field to draw from, would be much the same - I tend to believe that 1/12th has grown into more of an indoor/carpet type class, and any larger pan car classes should leave them where they are.

Honestly, what I'd like to see - for most of what I've read here is really good stuff - is by all means a Prototype class (for GTP and CanAm style bodies), a GT10 class (for all the aformentioned 2-door GT cars), and possible a Vintage class to encompass all the boxier (and or old-school) style body styles.

Three classes is plenty

The power for each class could be split by the aero capabilities of each class; Mod for GTP, 10.5/19T for GT10, 17.5/27T for Vintage.

I ran my GT10 10.5/4cell against some 19T/10.5 touring cars last night and the speeds were quite similar. The TCs came off the corners better and had more braking abilities, but the GT10 had more corner speed and the same top speed in the straightaways.

I still don't have the correct tires, and my Viper body lacks enough downforce for the speeds we're reaching (140ftx70ft), so the TCs were still beating me (although I'd expect it from L.Fairtrace and his psychotic Losi 13.5). More testing......

Yes, I ran with the more effective wing that comes with the Viper. The body comes with an authentic wing found on the 1:1 Viper ACR coupe, but that wing just looks good, it doesn't make any downforce or add stability. The other wing that comes with the body looks much like a traditional sedan wing, except it's quite short (top to bottom) and the rake is also quite low. It doesn't make enough downforce for really highspeed sweepers, nor does it make enough stability to plant my car at turn-in at the end of a long straightaway.

Once I get the correct tires for my track surface these findings will likely change, but I'll be sure to report back as things change. FYI, I run at Jackson R/C in NJ on a 140ft by 70ft super fine grade asphalt track. It's a permanent facility, with no VHT (not needed) and the track is blown off every race day.
