For those that are interested...

I purchased 3 packs smc 4000 28c, trinity ib 3800 28c and orion 3800 30c pack.

I cycled each pack 4 times on a gfx charger.

The numbers on dannys packs are just about spot on and not suprisingly his pack had the highest average voltage and lowest ir. The trinity pack is a close second and also should be rated as a 4000. The trinity pack yielded slightly lower numbers but comprable to smc packs.

The orion pack big disapointment..pack yield highest ir,lowest voltage and should be rated as a 3600 pack at best.

Keep up the good work Danny!

Cheers
Jamie

So looks like SMC makes the perfect 2cell matched LIPO packs!!!
Joel, you balanced the pack when it was fully charged, right? I ask because balancers generally don't balance partially discharged packs very tightly - they only do the fine balancing on fully charged packs.

thanks alot and keep up the good work...also thanks to Paul Sinclair whom advised me of your product to start with..............

Thanks Danny and Gomez...SMC 5000's were worth the wait. I've run Trackpower4900, Orion 3600, IP3800, and now SMC5000. Smc is top of the heap right now.

Thank you SMC for your 4000 lipo. This battery was everything I hoped lipo in racing would be, and I'm enjoying racing even more now.

Got a question for guys who have been cycling there pack on a gfx. What kind of increase in resistance and/or drop in average voltage are you seeing after about 200 to 300 runs on a 4000 pack? Just curious to some of the other numbers people are getting. My packs average voltage and resistance has been creeping, but the packs are still stellar and better than most out there.

Making the 4000 packs so much shorter than the others is very useful in tight spots. They fit like a dream in the 416 with a PPD plate.

Hi Danny,
I know the 5000/28C is the top dog, but is the new 5200/24C faster than the 4000/28C?
I know the math says it should be, but I'm just making sure.

ran the 4000 in TC for the first time...dropped my lap times down about .5-.9 seconds even though it weighs 50grams more than what I was running.

Did some testing during the Halloween race ... Danny had sent me a lipo and some new 4600 cells that had some awesome numbers on them... I asked for them since some of the guys here found sub c's faster then lipos. But i did not have any that were fresh.. So during practice i went back to back to back...

lap times were as follows....

First practice out .. SMC 28c/5000 Lipo fast lap 10.05 avg 10.33 for run
2nd practice out 10 mins later ..SMC EnerG 4600 fast lap 10.10 avg 10.45
3rd practice out 15 mins later with 28c/5000 lipo warmed. fast lap 9.92 avg 10.25

All my fast laps were run in the first 10 laps.... I could tell when i put the warmed lipo in the car vs the other two. This was all done with a 10.5 But i am convinced there will be no more sub c's in my Touring car anymore....

Danny once again did a awesome job on research... When other top drivers were going back to cells because they were slower with there so called higher C rating lipos.. I went faster with my 28C/5000 lipo Great job Danny...
