Hi Danny,
Well after much reading i have decided that the SMC pack will be the way to go, as Lipo's are only just been approved to run here in Australia ( at club level any way, main events next year hopefully) i would appreciate your recommendations for packs to run in my sons cars, he has a :
Losi xxxt, Losi xxcr in Offroad running stock (17.5t BL) at present and a Hot Boddies Cyclone also stock. He may well go onto Mod next year. Would the 5000mah be an advantage for stock or would the 4000mah suit both Mod or stock . any help or advise appreciated and any issues you have come accross fitting these packs in the above mentioned cars. regards
Greg

The 5000 has bit better voltage and lower IR so in stock it maybe a bit better. I should have pictures of our new saddle packs for 4wd in the next few days.

They both fit well and will require you to use a sanding drum on Dremel to get the wires to come out. I did this on my CR and it runs as good as ever.

The casing is finally done and were getting sample packs in to make sure everything is o.k. then they will go into production. The change in size we had to do for them to fit under all the top decks is the main reason for the delay. With the new size we need to decide the C rate and capacity as they are directly related. Our manufacturer is sending us 2 packs to test. One is 4600/28C and they other is 5000/22C. Since these packs will be used in offroad I think we will go with the 5000/22C. I will post pictures and actual data when the sample packs come in.

Great news on the saddles Danny. Looking forward to seeing the pics. Just wondering out loud if 4600/28C will be preferred by those running 4WD stock?

I don't think 4wd stock is as popular so we need to make a decision on what we think most will want. I will see how both packs cycle out and see which one will offer the best overall performance. I'm very confident that the 22C pack will have very good performance compared to what is currently out on the market.

The hardcases are being modified now so the wires come out on top so the distributors should have them in a month or so.
