It's odd to me how such an unstable substance runs my cars.. is used to stabilize mental patients ... and causes such trauma on our forums .

And I don't disrespect anyone here or anywhere actually. Seems to me every other manufacturer is using the barrel connectors. So why does SMC have to be difficult !? Remember all the different connectors on servos and speedos we used to have to get the right ends on to plug in to our recievers ? Now everyone is using a derivative of the Futaba "F" connector. Universal connectivity ! It's a beautiful thing!

Hey man.... I get the dog! Think about it.
I'd like some SMC packs for my pan cars,
but now I will wait for the sheep to flock.
I will wait till ROAR figures out what they want us to run and wait for some one else to do it the way I want it. And run round cells till then.
By then the industry will have 35 or 40c packs and this so called dead horse will arize its ugly head once more . No matter really , the fact that you guys are making single cell packs will show others that there is a market for them and will have to follow suit. But with DIFFERENT connectors.

It's pretty much the closest thing R/C has to blasphemy. I had to go into witness protection last time.

It's good that racers are scared of Lipos as if they weren't they would be doing all kinds of stupid things to try and get the edge. The ROAR overcharge test is much tougher than having a charger go .10 over 8.40

Bottom line use a Lipo sack and set your charger propely and everything will be fine.

Tell me how you can fit bullet conenctor packs in a 12th scale there is no room to pug them ? This pack was intended for 12th scale racers plus your talking about it on our 2 cell pack thread.

Another minor angle to consider is the effects of repeated slight overcharging on a pack that's out of balance. Granted, that's a fringe case, but it's not unheard of. I recently balanced a fairly used SMC 5000 the first time for a friend, and one cell was .04 off the other.

Anyway, I think we've all made our points. I'll get out of here before it's too late! :-)

The sensible among us (everyone participating on this thread) all know that. I see this as a chance to get the battery thing right and do away with the "cell of the month" culture that we had with 4/6 cell batteries and their short lifespans. If the chargers are calibrated correctly then there's no need for a voltage threshold setting. If the rules rigidly prevent people from overcharging their batteries then the cell makers won't continuing to develop 4v cells that will light NYC for a second or two and charger manufacturers won't make chargers that push them a step beyond that. I dream of an SMC ad that says. "SMC 5000/25c lipo, 1,000 cycles guaranteed". That'll never happen if the culture of the sport continutes to mirror the disposable/performance at any cost mindset of real car racing.

We use the Hyperion Duo to charge the packs then we use the GFX to dischareg them. They have been working very well and some days we charge 80+ packs and they get the job done.

If you get one make sure to get the proper board for the balance conectors use don the packs you have. The boards are 7.00 dollars each.
