"3. Boosting charge efficiency
It can guarantee high safety and because heavy-current charge (50A) it is possible, the SCiB cell, both standard module, it can complete the charge of 90% or more of battery capacity in 5 minutes. "

All i have to say is...
FIFTY AMP CHARGE HOLY MOTHER OF GEE OH DEE!

oh, and they are 2.4v cells. A 3cell pack = 7.2v. How perfect!

Oops

They are to big, one 2.4V battery measures 62x95x13. As you said you'd need 3 of them to make 7.2v, 186x285x39 is way to big to fit any RC car.
Afterall the reason Lipo came into play was it closely matched a SubC 6cell pack in size.

I dont know how you worked out your size of a 7.2v pack, But if they were assembled on top of each other then the final pack size would be 62 x 95 x 39

The cells are not expanding in every direction.. ;)

Oops, thats what I call an early morning brain fart:lol::lol:

I wonder what the specs are for capacity and discharge rate? A 2.4 V cell could be useful for 1/12 applications since two would get you to the 4.8V 4 cell NiMH equivalent.

my thoughts exactly! it does say however the first runs will be solely for hybrid cars (bloody things, not any less efficient than a diesel, but thats another story)

yeah, hopefully the second run will come sooner than later.

LOL , I think track owner would have nice electric bill when everyone start recharging their batteries at 50A ?

BTW, here are some battery photos :

It's made by Toshiba !!!

Nice! 4200 mAh. Hopefully this will work out better for Toshiba than that HD-DVD debacle.

50 amps for 5 minutes is the same as 5 amps for 50 minutes...you just get done quicker. :)

A123 cells can be charged in under 15 minutes & they are rated at 6.6 volts nominal(7.2 volts peak) w/ a 30c discharge rating. They come as 2300mah csize slightly longer cells & 1100mah aa size longer cells. I easily get 6 minutes of run time out of them & tons of performance w/ a mamba 7700 & a 2s 1p pack.
