What is your impression of the new VBC FF17?

I think the vertical top dec could work well in FWD. But why don't they use the great ball bearing rollbar mounts from the D09.

Hi, yes you are right.
I think the base of this chassis is the older D05...probably not a bad thing but I would like to have arm mount with inserts also.
Not complaining just observation
For the FF12 owner what is the weight of a rolling chassis?
Thanks!

I like the top deck and I REALLY like the offset battery idea though not sure how practically it will affect the balance

I don't like the exposed gears (personal thing) and it looks to me like the motor is a long way forward - could just be perspective of the pics

We need a manual to confirm especially for shorty battery positions...
If you find the motor a tad to much in front of the axle you can buy a 145g TSR motor and solve the issue lol

What bodies are you running?
The HPI celica was my favorite but it is hard to find.

The best is the Tamiya Integra, but it's impossible to find at a price where I would race it.

The 3racing civic WTCC looks cool and supposedly works well.

I run the Lancia Delta body. The "civilian" version was available as FWD.

Seen here with lifted rally suspension, but it looks good lowered too.

Finally got a chance to try this 3Racing Civic. Handles as good if not better than the Tamiya Golf24 body I usually run.

Actual body quality is good imo. Decal quality could use a little work...

Happy with the result. And it just looks so damn cool going around the track.

3Racing makes good stuff. Not Tamiya good, but better than average.

That spoiler looks ridonkulous.

That body does not look very fast/aerodynamic.

A pro driver running the Lancia body would lose to another pro driver running a different body, but a pro driver running the Lancia body would beat the snot out of anyone else. There is no substitute for clean driving.
