First shakedown with the FF03Evo vs FF04Evo for this weekends TCS Nats..

FF03Evo after all this time in the 'mothballs' still just edges out the FF04Evo by about 0.10sec consistently..

Going to go all in on the FF04Evo and change its setup to be more like that of the FF03Evo just to see what transpires..

Good to see we have enough entries down to a "C" main.. Not to mention there are a few contenders knocking on the door for top-spot.. Should turn out to be a good interesting series of races..

Set TQ runs with each car during Round2 and Round3 of qualifying... Need to look at the sheets to see which TQ-run was fastest.. FF04Eo finally 'felt' fastest on the track after morphing its setup closer to that of the FF03Evo.. FF03Evo just seems to 'turn-in' better in all conditions... Me thinks it has to do with the IFS front end and longer front overhang (heavier nose)

Are you running a ball diff in the FF03? And what thickness oil are you running in the FF04's gear diff? Just wondering how the ball diff holds up for acceleration against a tight gear diff.

Adding my FF to the thread. Had awesome fun running an M05 thought I'd pick up a bigger FF. The chassis is a MTS FF V2 and the body a Matrixline Renault. Not sure about the performance - there's no rear wing!

How much does it weigh? I just noticed USGT no has no minimum weight for FWD. I have the FF VBC. But haven't taken the time to get it together. I certainly would like to hear about your MTS and how it does.

I run a mts ff v1 in usgt. I can get mine to 1150 with a lcg 2s shorty.

It's competitive if the track is not real tight.

THAT - IS - AWESOME ! ! !

Kinda makes my FF04 look like junk. Just read both posts, and I can agree, I love FWD cars, especially the FF's from Tamiya. I need to run my FF03 & FF04 more.

Thanks for the inspiration, just what I needed!!

It changes the rotation of the motor. The offroad guys report more forward bite.

The setup I had was SUPER tail happy. I'll have to spend a bit of time taming it to my liking. Understandable given the orientation of the battery. Not sure why they did they.

Super liking Kentech's FF!

Better traction out of corners, better stability/more precise on the brakes is what I have found.

The gearbox is super free.

Thoughts on the ff03 for usgt on a large track? I'm a huge tamiya fan and want to run something in addition to my ta07

I think FWD are more suited for large/flowing layouts when put up against 4WD... that being said, my FF03Evo will be relegated for FWD class only.. FF04Evo is more 'planted' and a lil less-agile (stable) than the FF03Evo... We run 17.5 locally in our GT10 class (similar rules to USGT) so I'm hoping for a little safety-net for the added power...
