Correct ... the Clio is designed to fit a shorter wheelbase than the normal 257mm

Default FF01

Hey I've tried to google this but didn't find much help. Basically I've been challenged by a friend who hit 65mph in his Tamiya FF03 and I'm wondering what's the highest KV / 2S or 3S combo anyone has tried in a FF01 without melting the car down

Thanks,

Nice bout of innovative thinking and execution.

Just wondering if front wheel-spin is an issue though?

On the ff03(which is a front motor fwd), wheel-spin can be an issue and that's with 200 grams of motor and transmission hanging out, over the front wheel.

I'd imagine wheels pin to be a even greater problem on this conversion.

Would you care to give it a spin and let us know?

I would give you a feedback with pleasure, but I'm not sure to correctly understand... What do you call Front wheel spin? or wheels pin? Are you talking about traction?

(sorry english is not my mothertongue)

yes he is talking about front wheel traction...
You ideal is good but ,If you look at the TOP Racing Front wheel TC ( first version) look like your..Now the New version the motor is in the front of the gear box or front wheel..it need more weight in the front of the car to get better wheel traction

Yup that's right. That's why now I'm working on the electronics... ESC will go in the bumper, servo just near the motor and receiver and transponder on the otherside... We'll see if there is a difference or not on the traction level...

What kind of weight distribution ratio do you have with full front motor between front train and rear train? 80-20?

Hi dude !

80/20 seems way too extreme. Let's not forget the FF03 etc. have the battery longitudinally. So while you have a lot of weight beyond the front wheel axle, you don't get anywhere near those values. FWIW 60/40 seems much more plausible to me and last but not least, easier to achieve. Speedo in the bumper ? meh... I say avoid the overhang and just add a crapload of weight as close to your front axle as possible. Under the spool seems perfect. MHO of course.

What? You don't have a spool? HAHAHAHAHAHA maybe you should consider going back to playing marbles

I already have 60-40... By the way, is a spool really a good idea? It will kill the cornerspeed... Are all the moden FWD chassis kits delivered with a front spool?

I don't think so, but I will take my spool with me for the next test session...

And dude, don't be shy, show us your marvelous Sabre!
