Hector Garcia (el Campion Cubiche) might let you all in on his secret weapon for tires: the best foam oval 1/10 tires in the market...they're about $16 a pair, and have better wear and traction than Jacos or TRC...once you try them you wont use anything else

If its a narrow 200mm car, use another GT type body...TC bodies just are not designed to work with Pan Cars so well...yeah you can use them, but if you use GTP type bodies the pan par will be much better...I'd recommend the Serpent 200mm GTP body...its got plenty of down force and lgreat steering and handling...

Maybe Adrian or Hector can comment and share their expert recommendation

Thanks for the update Nick, I knew they had turned the corner, but I am done with NiMh, I cannot afford it. Buying batteries last year almost caused me to stop racing all togther. I put away my 12th scale too... And I still believe 5 cell voltage is what is needed for TC.... ROCK ( me) HARD PLACE.

Any 200mm body will fit the latest generation of narrow Pro 10 cars....so yes to the DNA3, Stratus 3.1, Mazda 6 200mm, etc......

FYI, I think you will see a drip in 1/10 pan car foam tire prices if the demand increases. Thats what happend to 1/12th foams a year ago. 1/12th foams are ~40% cheaper today than 4 years ago.

no touring bodies. keep it GT bodies for that kind of racing. ALMS GT1 = Corvette C6R, Aston Martin DBR9, Saleen S7R.. GT2, Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari 430 GT and Panoz Esperante... Toss in some Grand Am Mazdas, Mustangs, etc and so on. (man imagine of class was tied to ability or experience like the real stuff, lmao kidding) - I listed some of the Grand Am bodies below too.

one of the big things is the rear wings. there should be no current touring car style allowed. Look at the real ones. They are all quite small. keep it that way and we can help keep the speeds down.

The simplest thing we can do is to get some cars going with rough equivalent battery/motor setups. We know its not going to be exact. In the future anything over 13.5 (at 7.x volts) will be considered part of the modified class. It seems to be that 4c 19T is a fair fight against 4c 10.5, and we've raced 4c 19T vs 6c 27T, only to find out i might have been waaaay undergeared but thats another discussion. It was a good race anyways! Others claim 2S 21.5 is a tick faster on an oval so where speeding up and slowing down is concerned it might be right on. ROAR is going with 17.5 but i dont see it quite fitting in here except in a temporary 4c fitting. So lets just get some 4c motor combos and 7.x volt combos going at a "stock" and "super stock" level - don't worry about modified. Mod is open anyways. In a year when the class get some steam we should have it figured out between the batteries/motors and supply/durability issues
(we already have guys trying apogee lipos in 12th scales, so don't think it won't be but a year before its somewhat commonplace at your local track)

Koni challenge cars even allow Mini Coopers in the Street Tuner (ST) class, so there's quite a mix of possibilities - though I don't think anyone makes a MC body large enough for 200mm :P. The Grand Sport (GS) cars are for the most part listed above as well.

and if there was to be a resurgence of Prototype cars - perhaps a masters/sportsman type of class for guys who just want to come out and drive, have a good time with friends would be in order.

Just so you'll know what the rules are for the Florida state race at MDI in the TransAm class(Pan Cars are allowed). Wide pan cars- only body found is a 1970 Boss Mustang from McAllister (it's not listed but it's #136 @13.99).All other 200mm bodies are the same listed for TC. Motors- 13.5 with a 2.8 (pinion and spur). Batteries 4 cell only. Qualifiers are 5 minutes and 8 minute main. If enough pan cars are there, they may be put into there own class.Any foam tires maybe used.
If there are other wide Trans Am bodies available let me know and they will be included .

I know that HPI made a Porsche 911 GT3 body for 200mm (I actually found it on Tower Hobbies website). The rest of those, well Dale mentioned earlier about licensing issues. Anyway, a lot of the 200mm GT bodies Im sure could be remade if the interest was shown to be there for them (and there seems to be a slow groundswell for those types of bodies)

My new Corally 10X will be ready for our first outdoor race of the year a warm up for the BBR CUP I painted up a BRM prototype body that fits the car great. Thanks to Trent and Phil at T-Bang for getting me the car so quick and having all the needed spares in stock. Nice that they announce a car AND have it available to the public without a long wait.

I have a Proto-type 1/10 scale 200mm car and I have been testing it for months.

I also know when I was in Chicago last , almost 2 years ago is when I came across a Proto-Type on a car like this, it had a 68 Camaro Body and it looked way to cool they also had a NSX Bodied Car as well both were seen at a Local Hobby Shop in IL back in late fall 2006.

Adrian, what body are you testing with?
I will be bringing my Pantoura out of the closet to see what I can get started here in Seattle.

I know after our 24 hour enduro, and our Pantoura set the world record, more then a few people wanted to snag a 200mm Pan car, but CRC was out of part's, so it faded.
I can say a few things about what we learned in 380 miles.
10th scale foam Lasts and Lasts, we ran Purple, D/Purple, BSR (thanks John) on Asphault.
