Is there anything else that I "need" to purchase before doing the conversion? I would hate to take the working car apart just to find out I need addtional parts before I could get it working again.

Any hints/tips or web links that could help me convert the car would be appreciated.

Get the Encore shock and relevant fittings and thats it.

Will the old shock from the Gen X not work? Or is it just that much better?

It will work but all the setups are based on that shock so it just makes sense.

And 1/12th scale king pins and 50/55 front springs for most carpet conditions.

And I have not taken off the long upper arms since putting them on for the Carpet Nats in March.

When I was adjusting my rear pod, front edge was catching on the carpet, I noticed my pod is heavier on the left side and angles to the left when unweighted. Should I balance it out??

Also

My Spektrum S6070 is too wide to get the servo saver in the centreline of the car so I have the saver turned to the right to get my toe set properly. The stock turnbuckles are too long to have the saver centred. Will the difference in turnbuckle length greatly affect Ackerman?? Should I use a shorter turnbuckle on the left side?

Thanks for the help

on your pod... re adjust your football (make sure your chassis is flat and no links, bulkhead, or springs are set/attached)

also check your bulkhead.. that might be bent

OR.... your chasis might be tweaked and you may have to loosen up all chassis parts to find the issue

Thank you. Will strip down my chassis and rebuild to get rid of the tweak. Thought the motors weight might not be perfectly balanced.

just remembered the screw holding the top plate to the football standoff backed out last night. That's probably what tweaked it.

dont have an answer for the motors weight... but for me 98% of the time its the football (crashes or hits can get them outta-wacked)

also do a quick check on your bulkhead to see if its bent. looking from the back to the front... look under the rear pod and if your bulkhead is bent the motor will dip down below the pod

Thanks for the help guys. Motor is sitting level so it must be the football. This is one tough car, in five meets I've only broken a side link

Can someone give me a good roll-out to start with for the IIC in Vegas? I'm running 13.5.

It obviously depends on your motor and driving style but try something in the range of 3.1" to 3.4". Remember to crank the timing in your motor.

In proper units of length measurement that would be 78.74mm - 86.36mm

You silly Americans. Someday you'll figure out metric is WAY easier

48P or 64P for carpet setup? That is the question.

Haven't had many issues with 64P in my TC & WGT but lots of people suggested I switch to 48P as it's much more reliable. 64P makes more sense to me for indoor on-road, more efficient. I need new pinions and spurs and can't decide if I should make the switch, such a dilema
