Yes, You have to go low profile between the cells.....See pics. I put some tape against the cells and over the bullet connector to prevent arcing as well.

Guess what just arrived at my door step about an hour ago? Yes new CRC Gen X 10, unfortanetly I was also on my way out to work so I guess I won't be able to look it over until this weekend. I should have it up and running by next weekend hopefully.

Ok now I can rally folks in the Los Angeles area to get this class going. Hit me up if you are in L.A. and getting one of the pan kits soon.

I'll have pics/video in the comming weeks.

Awesome news! Take your time building the rear pod of the car. It must be done on a nice flat surface, and dont continue building the car until its PERFECT. Also, the alittle extra time sanding and CA'ing the edges. Helps protect the chassis from spliting, and gives it a nice look too.

I seriously hope that you can get some pan car running in LA soon, I am going to be there in Jan/Feb for acouple of months, and I might bring my pan car with me.

Shawn.

Thanks Shawn for the tips. I will take my time, I am also waiting on some tools that should arrive on Monday, setup board, picked up the Unity tweak station, and JR Z3650 arrived with the kit. Nice thing will be I can bring it to work and work on it here for eight hours if nothing is happening next week.

I just received an email from KDR from http://roadrunnersrc.com/default.aspx and said they have a half dozen guys and possibly more to come. It is an hour away from Los Angeles but I may check it out once I get up and running. There a couple of tracks I am looking at that are in the 30 minute driving distance and see if more people jump on the bandwagon. Maybe the companies pushing these kits can help get some exhibition races to make more people aware of this class.

I ordered them from my LHS....They're from Kimbrough and only work on their spur gears.

And thanks for the kind words!

I have to do some experimenting to optimize the gear ratio, but for now it's a 13.5 w/ 31/100.

Seems about right, but I won't know till I get it on the track.

In my sons car we have a 13.5BL with 78 spur 20 pinion for a roll out of 47.53

My Car 10.5 /78 spur / 19 pinion roll out @ 47.45

Some of the faster guys try to use a roll out around 50.00

That is 64p....

Light.....are you guys running oval? Oval gearing is far taller than us guys that turn both directions. If you're running road course it looks like I've gotta gear up!

i was gonna say that is a big ol' spur on a pan if it was 48.. i have a 90 (48p) and i need to go down... you must be running on carpet with 64p? i have got to put my narrow car back together so i can get one of those vette bodies.. that thing is soooo sweet..

Thanks! That is actually a 200mm nitro body from a couple of years ago....I think the new purpose built pan car body will actually fit better. I ordered a couple, so I'll see when they come in!

Yeah, I plan on running carpet with it. I have a hard time scratching those nice clean chassis.' I have run graphite chassis cars with the associated chassis protector with great results, but we don't have too great of an asphalt following here yet anyway.

I look forward to carpet season getting back under way!!
