I have a different set-up. But yours will work just fine but you might need a softer center spring since we will try the spec tires all around for the Spec175GT. I'll have tires and everything else you might need with me. The Outlet should have the protoform Camaro in stock. If I get my new body painted I'll have a used Porsche GT1. You could try your car out tommorow at the outlet.
Other than that-call Superior for a body.

The SE kit comes with CRC #3281 clamping side links that are 65mm long (C-to-C). These are the ones that attach at the forward hole position on the main chassis plate and are angled when connected to the rear pod plate. With these links the rear side springs are normally inboard.

To get the side links parallel and the springs to the outside, use the shorter CRC #3280 side links which were used on the original GX10 chassis. I believe these are either 54mm or 2-1/8" long (C-to-C).

All three of my WGT cars are setup to have the springs outboard. I consider this to be a minor improvement for most carpet situations; but, a significant improvement for asphalt.

Normally, I have a feeling that longer links can be a positive; but, placing the rear springs outboard is the more important change.

Of course, all of my experience is with pure WGT cars; but, I assume it should be positive for your spec racing too.

I run it at Jeff's RC studio in Fort Meyers, FL. Looks like he's in Jacksonville so I guess he's running it up north somewhere.

rcgen, you coming to minnreg on the 11th?
I didn't see a 17.5 wgt class on the snowbirds web site?

It's called Spec 17.5 GT. It's the expo class, last one on the list.

i donn't know if anybody tried to run a car in short wheel base configuration and narrow(196.34mm) but let me tell you it was interesting at the least. i got the car used from a local person that i thought it was set up ok but not. luckily i got the car working allot better by the main by widening the rear out to 201mm and lengthening the car to settle it down a little.looking for the next club race

I agree that the longer wheelbase does settle the car down; but, I usually run a width of just under 200mm. Handling gets a tad lazy as it gets wider; and, something like a 198mm width provides good clearance with all of the available WGT bodies.

What body are you running?

Here's mine and almost ready to hit the track tomorrow. Just need to add a motor and receiver. It's basically set up per the book with 10* and long wheelbase.

What ESC is that on the car?

What weight lube in the side tubes?

Going to run the front foam bumper? If so, use the #1760 Trimmed Foam Bumper and support it with at least two more of the #1262 short (1/2") standoff posts like you have in the center.

You are almost there...

The whole rear pod is offered as a conversion kit.

I am running a GTB. I used the lube that was included with the kit and foam bumper is now on. It will hit the track tomorrow morning. Bullfrog and maybe two other racers with CRC cars will be there for me to pick their brains.

A Novak GTB only comes in a 2S version. Is that the battery to run for your Spec 17.5 GT class?
