I recently set my old Gen-X to the full narrow front setting (running rubber) and .50mm x 10mm springs. The car really responded steering wise. That was its last run on Fastrak carpet. This weekend we start running on the new Fastrak II so I start all over.

this worked out pretty well for all of us. well i think all the pan guys glued the front tires. it helped my WGT from chattering around corners, allowing it to slide as it was. the 12th it helped with the car wanting to lift in hairpins. but the new carpet IMO is the shit for WGT. i've never had the perfect amount of steering in WGT. for the first time i really felt like it was a pan car the way it was wrapping around the corners

I think the 12th kingpins were the answer on the old carpet, for the new Ive been faster on the 10th pins/springs. I think with the combo of CA sidewalls the extra travel really helps the car rotate, again just my opinion.

You guys running stock setup on the new carpet?

I tried stock but with the long arm conversion and associated blue rear side springs.
Car traction rolled like crazy until I cut tires down to 52mm.

Then the car was driveable but the car didn't have enough mid corner steering.

This is with center 3/4 rear tires sauced and 1/4 front sauced.
I was afraid to sauce the front more so as to avoid traction rolling.
Ride height 4-4.3-4.5 front to rear.

I guess if i end up getting beat that bad i may try the 10th pins/springs combo. i'm kind of lazy/cheap with that respect. so i usually dont make changes unless getting my ass handed to me time and time again. sort of like what i did with my TC. but that's definitely in the back of my head now tho.

Ahh Aaron what's up man...i thought you were Jacob the whole time lmao. but i sauce my rears like Jacob mentioned....3/4 of the rears when it was called that it was 2 mins left in the main or qualifier before i got out there. i'd put my body and all on and right before i went out i'd do about 1/2 of the tire right down the middle of the front tire then i went out and ran. but yea i think your biggest issue was the height of the tire. i think those contact wheels have a bigger diameter wheel than the BSR...I THINK i'm going to check when i get home. but for optimal performance w/ WGT you have to cut them things down to AT LEAST 53mm. They last a long time TBH tho. i burn through my fronts faster than i do my rears. i'm on my 2nd set of fronts to the one set of rears i'm running.

tire diameter and ride height...crucial to rolling. keep your car at 4mm

my general setup is 12th scale king pins up front w/ 12th scale .45 springs, my side springs are purple and i'm running 10k lube. i dont even know what the droop on my pod is. i've never even checked it tbh. i just adjust the center shock to how much more steering i need. if you didnt have mid steering, you may need to check camber.

my board setup for my WGT is usually 0 toe and 1* camber unless i'm coning wheels bad and i'll just adjust camber to run the tires until they are completely done.

HOPEFULLY next i'm there i can run your car and see what you have. i didnt have much time yesterday

We addressed big tires on the new carpet awhile ago :P

Oh the only real change with the kingpins is travel. If you feel your car handles well then go with what works for you

yea i agree...that's why i went w/ my exact same setup and no changes yesterday with WGT to see how the setup acts on the new carpet. i could have made the car work just as it was w/ my setup for the entire day. but the changes i made made the car work way easier. when the class continues to grow and guys get faster and i see that their cars are possibly handling better/faster, i'll probably look into working on setup changes. but other than tires, i'm using the same setup as at my home track

Whatever works for you. I've done both 1/12th and 1/10th I only use the CRC springs. you'll have to experiment with the tire sauce as I don't let it sit long before I wipe it off. Also experimenting with different bodys to see what works for me. For foam I like the HPI Porsche GT1 and the rubber the HPI C6 Vette. I've tired the protoform PF10 and Camaro Z28. I like the Z28 on Foam and waiting to try the PF10 on the new chassis. I did not like it before on either car. Have a Nissan Silva to try on Rubber. I won't have any results for a couple of weeks- till I return.
