Is WCRC still running World GT? I'm getting ready to get back in and pick up a Gen X 10 kit.
I just picked up a used CRC from eBay for some world Gt racing at my local southern California tracks just because its the class I haven't tried yet. I've done the dirt thing for years now and touring car is just so expensive to jump into again.
Both of the tracks I want to run at are asphalt (WCRC) and carpet (TQ).
What would be a good tire set up for these types of surfaces? I understand that asphalt and carpet tracks might require a different compound.
I have enjoyed cruising this thread for a while now
Thank you for all the info.

At TQ foam works the best, however check the class you want to run before before you purchase.
In our Le Mans class(see ad above) you could run a pan car 1/10 chassis such as the CRC with foam tires or any formula 2wd (tamiya F103/f104) chassis on rubber tires.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Ok thanks for the replies. Again like I said it has been at least 4 years since I last played with the first Gen X 10. I'm looking at the crc site and see there is a new LE version. What are folks running at TQ? Should I stick with the first version or the new LE version?

at TQ we run the WGT spec:
1s, 13.5, blinky (fixed timing esc, no boost, turbo etc),
spec body and tires
only jtg or sxt3 traction compunds allowed.
the early genx wasn't laid out to handle 1s easily. tq's owner (Sean) runs a CRC in wgt, you could compare your car's layout to his. i don't know what else changed beside ease of battery installation.

For WCRC you will need rubber, depending on your chassis the brand and type.

i tried 1/12 and wgt cars at WCRC when they first opened, and found carpet tires to work best (black/yellow on 1/12 and greens on the wgt)
i gave up and ran rubber tire TC ( WCRC).
at TQ there is usually a good number of pan cars on Sunday, and certainly for the series races (next sunday june 9 will be a series race)
if you want see what the turn outs are like, Sean posts all the race results on his website, www.tqrcracing.com

Help needed with 1 cell pan car gearing???
I have a new CRC X10 LE.
I want to run a single cell LiPo in it. I have a HobbyKing EZ Run BL B1 Combo sensor-less motor and ESC in it. I use a Spektrum DX3S transmitter with a Spektrum SR300 receiver. The rear tire diameter is: 2.43 BSR rubber capped. I know how to gear this pan car when using a 2S lipo, but need advice on how to gear it for a 1S lipo? I race it on a outdoor concrete basketball court that is approx. 15 meters wide by 28 meters long at it's extents. The racing line for oval races is approx. 30 meters long. When I power up the car on my workbench the 1 cell is very slow compared to using the 2 cell so I must find out how to gear the 1 cell for a 5 min. oval race. I'm using a 88T, 64pitch spur that came with the kit but I do have others. If anyone can help with either the gear ratio and or the rollout I would very much appreciate it. Also do I need a voltage booster?
Here in Cancun, Mexico we do not have any hobby shops and most of my fellow racers are about 10 years behind in their knowledge. Thanks.......Cancun Tom
