The battery tray has a lip, so it has to go in from the top. Comparing my car to other's pics, my links are much shorter. What are the advantages/disadvantages of this chassis compared to the ones with the longer links?
Sorry for the newbie questions.

Scott,

Per the shorter links you describe, you have the original Gen X-10 Pro kit. It can easily run either 1S or 2S battery packs.

You can certainly can have some fun with this chassis without issue. But, at some point you may want to buy the upgrade kit to convert over to the LE version.

Here's a few more pics. Kinda hard to see but they will do in a pinch.
Hi fellas,
I have one more of these battery trays left for the original GenX10.
If anyone is interested I have it ready to go for $24 shipped.
As a more ridged replacement for the original plastic part, it greatly improves the stiffness of the chassis while still removable.

Sorry, the pics didn't link in the quote. you can see the tray a few pages back.

Any suggestions on hopups?
Thanks,
Scott
You have the older GEN-X style. A great car (same one I run as well). As far as hopups the only thing really on mine is the front brace, foam bumper, and I run the larger rear pods on both sides as I feel it is more durable.

Past that have fun!

Anyone heard if there is going to be a update to the car to allow the new CRC rear pod to be used?

someday it will be updated but not at this time.

And that came from a very good source that said the new 1/12th rear pod will not work in the WGT

I have a 1oz weight on the right side to balance it out. I may be able to remove it if I move my RX near my ESC behind the battery in the center.

I gave those inaccurate Hudy balance pedestals away.

Try these...

Hello, I am looking for a good 1s esc. I have looked at the hobby wing 1s and the Castle Creations 1s. Has any one have had any problems with these speed controls. or am I better off just getting tiken rs or Novak gtb2. Please give me your feed back.

I switched from the Tekin RS to the Hobbywing 1S to eliminate issues with receiver packs and separate boosters. HW Xerun 120A 1S SD works great!

Both ESCs took about the same effort to learn to program.

I can highly recommend the Viper VTX1, very good piece of kit for both boosted and blinky. Josh Cyrul kicked ass with it at this years IIC.

The castle has some serious punch as compared to my RS...it is however BIG... and still needs the reciever pack or booster, so this adds wieght to the car. You may want to consider that when choosing.

FYI...My closest carpet track is 6 hours...<cry>

Believe it or not, those white springs are for high bite carpet. I race with SG1 and my car is very similar but it is not a XL.
