i'm looking to find some more high-speed steering through sweepers without making the car too twitchy at low speeds. driving the 235mm version on a medium-traction asphalt surface. am thinking of applying additive to the inner half of the front tyres as a start (not currently applying any to the fronts, which are a jaco purple compound). don't really want to reduce rear wing height as i like the way the rear is locked in. similarly don't like the feel of a harder rear tyre. have also thought to try the 'rear steering' i've read about here. is it achieved by raising the front ballstud on the links? any other ideas would be appreciated thanks!

In my experience the rear steer only worked once the car was loaded in a corner.
I actually ran my 200mm GT version with the rear steer in reverse (raise rear links by 1mm), so i had more turn in but the the rear would then turn in to the corner thus preventing the rear coming round as much under power.

Default booster help

Just picked up a ESC booster for my Tekin, just want to make sure that I hook it up right.
I know that you plug it in to the Receiver and then the other side to ESC leads from batt. Do I put a on off switch inbetween?

Looking for some advice

#1 What body posts should I get that are stronger than the stock ones. Got in a crash this weekend and the flimsy stock posts bent and ended up with a DNF in the final

#2 Looking for a metric steel screw set, or bulk metric hex screws with 4-40 threads.

#3 Need a longer turnbuckle (Spektrum S6070 can't be 100% centred) & better rod-ends.

Thanks Gen X'ers

I use xray body posts and longer ball cups

and try fastener-express.com (lots of screws)

Hi,

have bought CRC Gen-X 10 LE Conversion Kit. It comes without shock. Would like to change shock also. Which CRC Dura-shock or CRC Encore Shock I have to buy?

Do I need anything more for smooth conversion to LE? Thank you!

I'm still running my original 10 X Pro in 13.5 1S boosted and love it. My driving stinks, but the car is just so much fun to drive. I've put on the Powell shorty front bumper, the side extensions to use the shorter body posts and the Powell Nerf bars (I'm always worried that I'll snap a rear axle with my bad driving.) I have some problems with traction roll due to my horrible driving, but I still think these are the greatest cars out there. I'm seriously considering getting a second one to set up a 235mm 2S 10.5 for some outside summer fun next year.

What are these nerf bars that you are on about?

Where do you get them? I would love a bit more protection for the axle!

Doug Powell Racing made them. I don't think he is in business any longer. John Stranahan referred me to him when I first bought the car. I would imagine the designs are still available, but you'd have to find someone to cut them.

CRC encore shock is the one you need

you may want to go with 12th scale king pins and springs (personal preference)

Thank you all for answers. Will try old one until new one get here in LT. Would like to order Encore but amain do not have them. Where else I can find CRC parts with nice prices?

Yep, I am using shorter king pins and love this setup. Only I think was using bad ones because one broke...

This season my club will allow setup with 1S and 10.5T motor. That is why I am changing to LE. I think that 1S and LE will help for tires to last longer . Or I am doing wrong assumption?
