Have a look back a bit further, i've been tracking my changes on asphalt for about 6 months now. Must say, i'm still not having great luck!
What sort of track, and what battery/motor type are you running?

I posted mine from the Asphalt Carpet Nat sometime in April. Just look back into my post history for it.

Our track AMSA in Barcelona (Spain) 45m straight (2S with 7,5motor):

Why we don't have our forum in rctech to be more clear all information with best post with sticky?

you will find most of the U.S guys setups are for 1s i believe.
seems they favour small indoor tracks (possibly weather related) and work well with 1s

Nice track!

My original setup used a 13.5 motor and 2S battery...quite fun. But, making the car light with a 1S battery really brought out the handling characteristics of the car. So, most here in the US went with the WGT configuration of 13.5 with 1S.

The few guys that stayed with 2S configurations usually added the 235mm upgrade and went with the big prototype bodies; but, that has completely died out here.

i would like to try 1s at some stage,i have a few 1s packs.
just my track is large with a couple big straights and dont know if i would get the punch and speed with 1s
hell if there was any pan car racing at my track i would run 1s,2s,nimh, alkaline batteries, anything as long as there was some racing

Has anyone tried the car with 1S and a 4.5 (or so) motor? Just curious, as 1/12 specs down here is mod, and many run with 5.5 motors. Not sure if I would overheat the electrics trying that with a heavier car or not.
No real reason to try it, just for sh*ts and giggles.

Ran 1s McKune X10 with 8t Delta, so much grip on our track that we could pull wheelies, was very hard to do proper laps though as was too easy to pop a wheelie.

I know people with 1S (6000) and 3,5 motor, enough for 8 minutes.

Question for Brian Wynn or Brian Bodine,

At the 2011 Carpet Nats at TimeZone II, your WGT cars both had extra washers on top of your four 1/2" tall standoff posts to raise the rear body mounts and provide more vertical adjustability of the rear side springs.

What did that do for your cars?

Did you ever switch over to the optional 5/8" tall aluminum standoff posts #1293 in lieu of the washers?

Thought this change might be something to put out there as a tuning option.

Bill,

I was mainly trying to see the difference of moving the side springs to on top of the link. I did not have longer standoffs with me so I cobbled something together to try it. My testing was inconclusive as I had electrical issues the whole time I was there.

I gave up 1s 10.5 racing as I was often melting the solder inside the motor and on the ESC motor wires. When I return to pan car it will be the now legal BRCA GT3 class (2s 17.5) and use those Xcelorin 60c 3800 96mm LiPo's, which fit in to a 1s chassis (they are 1s length and 2s height).
