are you using standard size servo or a mini, its works fine with a mini size servo, but not with a standard size. Hope this helps!

If you run a low profile such as the Savox SC1251, you can run a non-mini servo, with a 2s pack.

Im using a futaba S9650 which is a mini. but thats not the problem, the problem is that the battery does not fit in the plastic battery holder by width, so if i place the battery inside while the car is upside down it sticks out by 3mm on the bottom of the chassis... Its a hardcase with dimensions: 137x47x24mm. Would it be a big mistake to take out the packs from the hard casing? Thanks for the help!

I would leave the pack in the hard case. I think i understand the issue you are having, but a photo would be worth a thousand words.

You might be hooped on this one, and a different battery may be needed.

Shawn.
On the first picture you can see that its to thick, on the second picture you can see that its to wide which adds to the height due to the side wall of the battery tray.
I'm sure that i won't be able to use this lipo with hard case on it. Any suggestions on what hard case lipo to buy? Thanks!

Default What parts to buy?

Hey there, I just picked up one of these used, looks to be in great condition. It'll be here in about a week, but I'm wondering what breaks most often and what spares should I keep on hand?

My lipo didn't fit, but it was close. I got a dremel and ground some of the side wall of the holder out, and also put some waashers under the upper-deck posts to raise the height. Fit's perfect now, and doesn't slop around

Thats definately a big battery! These cars were designed around the TrakPower battery, which has dimensions of 137x46x23mm.

What about having the battery sit above the tray? Use some spacers to raise the top deck until it fits.

I wouldnt buy the TrakPower these days. I dont even know if you can buy them anymore. Most Reedy 2S, Fantom, ThunderPower, or SMC would should fit. Just check the measurements.

Yes. A 2S will fit as long as you use a mini servo, or a low profile servo using straight up down servo mounts (T2 style, or AE)

Our club used to run 2S, 10.5 with these cars, and they are a blast to drive with 2S.

Just make sure the 2S is 137x46x23mm or smaller.

I'll have to get with you sometime soon to talk about my car. Are you going to Kissimmee this weekend?
