To be perfectly honest, I don't know what a strong block is either. There is some contention as to what sort of car he drove though... It was either a Falcon or a Landau...
What I can say for sure though is that a buddy of mine was in "Beyond Thunderdome" as one of the bush kids. He's got a photo of himself with Mel Gibson!

Verndog, have you considered making these mounts for offroad 4WD buggies that use lipo saddle packs? ie B44, BJ4, D4, TRF501X, etc?

I received mine today Verndog. Very nicely made! I will do fitment into my 416 tomorrow morning. I have to head out to work right now. There is some clearance issues with the motor mount center post, servo mount, and antenna post. I already knew this would happen. But its a quick fix with a dremel to slot the plate where they meet. Other than that, it'll line up perfect into the battery slots. I'll post pic's as well tomorrow.

Here is mine in a TC5 with a 3600mah Orion Lipo and standard chassis with ITF topdeck. With an ITF chassis, the base weight does not hang below the chassis, it's darn near flush. Its balanced side to side with Corally balancers (4 concealed weights in the side weight)

. I designed the chassis insert to be within .005 from flush on the ITF. This way it fits either chassis 2.0mm or 2.5mm. I am surprised to see that it only required 1 additional oz to get the 3600, it should be close to no additional weight on a 4900 /5000. Mine I had 1oz on chassis with the EP4200's (16oz), then I converted and all the lead is gone with 1/2oz in the slot running 13.5 LRP / Novak. 
Your car turned out sweet, its tough to take clear shots with the flash on billet...looks even better in person...nice to have the best looking /well balanced ride now huh!!
Did you happen to notice it took slightly less weight to balance then with NiHh??

Fortunately I have never used NIMHs in an electric vehicle. I started out with LiPo like all the smart Heli/ Airplane guys.
I MAY need to add more weight to get it race legal, but ATM I do not own any scales, as I came from offroad nitro, and who weighs their cars for that?
As far as the camera, it turned out decent. I may just borrow a friends SLR to take them correctly.

Sweet, thanks for the heads up Verndog. Even if I have to, with the setup you made, its SO CLEAN. Just take the side weight off, add some lead to the inside, and your set (if you still need to balance it a little better) If not, I'll add weight underneath the belts as there is PLENTY of rooms in that area for a few more weights. Edit from my last post, I used Hudy balancers. I find they have too much friction. Adding 28 more grams to the battery side, it can still maintain its balance. Ill be buying the IRS balancers and some good postal scales to get the weight distribution perfect. People at the track are going to be SO jealous! (but not for long, Ill be pointing them to your website)

Okay, here I'm home from work finally. Now I'm sitting back drinking a Guinness. 
Took some pics of the ezlipo and my 416. Here they are. I remove about 2mm of material to clear the motor brace and servo mount and antenna mount. The piece just slides in no prob now. The Express/Trinity pack sits on it nicely. The top deck just clears the battery by about .5mm or so. Thank You Verndog!! Also, this piece also fits into my Tamiya Evo IV with no mods at all. Plenty of clearance for lipo packs under the ultra high top deck. This piece would also slide into my 415MRE if you dremel out clearance for the motor brace. However, the rear bulkhead and top deck may cause clearance issues with lipo packs. Those are my findings so far. Enjoy....

Do you need both the side and the bottom plate or do you buy just one? I didnt quite understand from the website.
