Default What do yal think is the best car body?

I was wondering what would be the best 190 mm touring car body because I am going to be competing in the N.C. state champ race and need a good body. THANKS

According to Peak's website, you'd be committing a party foul

http://www.peakmotors.com/racer_tips.asp#not

"Unless you race oval, please no Dale Earnhart Jr. touring car bodies. I’m sure that even he would say, “that’s not right.” Hell, he might even be insulted. That’s cool if you like NASCAR, just don’t piss off your hero. "

Lol.

Body selection depends on your track's layout. Typically, a stratus is good for larger flowing circuits whereas a Losi Alfa is good for tight technical stuff. But it all depends on how you want your car to feel.

I usually use a Protoform Stratus 2. It seems to slip though the air better. It feels more "free" in the corners. I tried a buddy's losi alfa on my car and it made it feel really twitchy and stuck. It's more of a matter of what you like. Try both and see what you think.

I like the stratus 2.0 the best out of all the bodies I have run.

I hate to go with the crowd, but I concur. I have a stratus 2.0 and it feels great on the track compared to my old BMW body.

I like the Protoform Chrysler 300M personally. I have not tried the new Stratus 2.0 though.

The Stratus are pretty boring by now, however, I still like the look and especially the handling. I've only tried HPI's version.

I also like the HPI Ford Mondeo body a lot, it handle great (very close to the Stratus) and to my preferences, it looks good too.

My Mondeo:

Got the Protoform Alfa 2.0 some days ago. Doesn´t look as good as the old one but handles much better. Overall balance similar to the Stratus 1 but much more downforce. Just right for technical tracks. Still waiting for the Losi Alfa.

Regarding the Stratus 2.0 someone told me Protoform did some changes lately. Is this true? I got one right when it was released but I still prefer the old Stratus 1. The 2.0 is to loose at the rear for our tracks indoors. Yet have to try outdoors.

The suspension will need to be changed when running different bodies. This is just what happens in real life racing.

Not absolutely true, what you want to do is start with your base set-up when you try different bodies, once yu find the 1 for you then you fine tune your chassis....
