It still baffles me to this day how people complain about costs associated with this hobby. $450 or $490, it is a lot of money either way but a relatively small expense to an entire racer's budget. If you don't like the prices go buy yourself a TC5. A good car and you will save yourself a hundred dollars.

There is always 1:10 and 1:12 pan car.

Yes the dollar sucks!

Everything in our hobby will be a little higher. Over the next 2~3 years you will see a bigger push on American made in all facets of life. This will increase manufacturing jobs and the Economy will recover.

What's up with this? Anyone who has been keeping an eye on the new '008 will know that thay were selling for $439 to $459, now several online sites are selling them for $489.00.

What gives? Trying to take another $50.00 from my pocket, forget it, I'll keep my '007 and pass on the '008 for now. $500 for a bare kit is too much IMO...
.........that's bordering 1/8 kit territory................

The price went up because RCAmerica started calling the shops and busting their asses to enforce the MAP pricing. It's not a dollar thing, it's a MAP pricing/price control thing. They were threatening to pull accounts from shops that didn't fall into line and raise the price.

A company over here in Australia selling GPS units recently got fined 1.2mil for trying to enforce MAP pricing.
